Got a call from 01227 044970. I never pick up numbers I don’t know that just ring out of the blue. Usually, I look at where the caller’s from and block the number if it’s dodgy. If it’s a mate using a weird phone, I tell them to send a message first, then I’ll give them a ring back.

A woman called saying it was a quick survey with just three questions, so I said yes. Then 20 questions later, I started to wish I hadn't. It was obvious she was collecting info to sell on, asking about my energy provider, the age of my washing machine, PPI claims, insurance and all sorts. The next day I got a text saying reply to claim a voucher, but I looked up Vivalavoucher and found loads of warnings about it being a scam charging £2 per reply. I’m sure I’ll be bombarded with sales calls and texts now. Guess I was a bit too polite!

Verso group said they found my number from a survey I supposedly filled out. Thing is, I never do surveys and I’m on the telephone preference service (which has really stopped most of these annoying calls, apart from the dodgy or scam ones). So they’re either a bunch of liars, shady cowboys, or outright scammers. Either way, the woman got an earful for waking me up and being rude, and I’ve now blocked the number.

Just got a call from this number in Canterbury, and as soon as I picked up, it sounded like my phone was ringing like I was calling them. The firm’s name is Verso Group, and they conduct surveys about household products, stuff we use daily. They got my number from a transaction I had with a section of their company - in my situation, it was for a washing machine cleaning product I bought online. I gave my phone number when asked for delivery reasons in case there were any issues. Hope this helps someone out there.
