I got a call saying I’d been in a car crash, which wasn’t true at all. As soon as I heard that, I just put the phone down straight away.

I got a phone call from the same firm too, supposedly about the same thing, and it came from this number 01227 031439. The caller introduced herself as Lydia. My number's definitely on the telephone preference list, so I don’t see why they bothered ringing me in the first place.
