Seems like our number, which got nicked from TalkTalk some years ago, is doing the rounds again. Got a voicemail saying they’re from HM Revenue & Customs with a serious legal claim against us. They asked to ring back on an extension, claiming it’s urgent. Definitely a scam, probably targeting older folks. Honestly hope no one gets caught out by it, cos if you don’t know about these tricks or look up info on places like this, it could be pretty scary.

Got a call just this morning and they left a voicemail claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs, saying it was my final opportunity to sort out some serious legal issue. I decided to look up the number on Google and luckily stumbled across info about this scam. Big thanks to everyone sharing their experiences with these calls, it really helped me realise what was going on. At first, I was really worried hearing those accusations, but then I thought, there’s no way I wouldn’t have been informed properly in writing if this were real. These scammers really ought to be tracked down and stopped! Sorry I don’t have more to add, but just wanted to share my experience.

Like a few folks already mentioned, this is just another awful scam using the same tricks. These scammers really are the worst kind of people. Nowadays, I only pick up calls from people I actually know because you just can’t trust anyone else. I'm really concerned about older people and those who might be easy targets falling for it. Honestly, I think the police really need to get involved and crack down on scams like this.

I got a call from 01226 810182 and the person claimed to be from HMRC. The guy had a heavy South Asian accent, sounded either Indian or Pakistani, and his English was quite rough. I told him off, maybe a bit harshly, to leave me alone. It’s about time someone cracked down on these scammers, I dread the thought of someone getting tricked and losing cash.

Got a call from a lady with a posh accent saying, “this is for you”, but never gave any names. She warned that if I didn’t call back immediately, I'd face costly court proceedings. They claimed it was urgent and time critical. Having worked in customs myself, I can tell you government agencies don’t do business like that. Today I got a call that was exactly like what others have said here. I knew it was dodgy right from the start but was kinda tempted to keep chatting with them for a laugh. Ugh, it's those bloody Pakistani guys again, always switching numbers like it’s a game. The phone companies handing these crooks the numbers need to be held accountable too.
