Reports on phone number 01226780241
8 yearsI got a call from this number and the tone was really intimidating, telling me I had to show up in court over some crime. They said to press 1 if I wanted more info. I did press 1, but when I asked for details, the woman on the line wanted my national insurance number. I wasn’t having any of that and hung up. Later, I called back the number 01226780241 myself and a woman just muttered “hello”. When I asked who I was speaking to, she replied with “who am I speaking to?” which felt a bit dodgy to me. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.8 yearsThey rang my 82-year-old mum three times within just two days, which I found really worrying and honestly felt like harassment.8 yearsGot a call claiming to be from the Action Fraud team, said I could press 1 to talk to an officer and get details about my case. But when I checked their official site, they clearly state they never make calls like that. Definitely dodgy.8 yearsGot a message on my home answering machine on Friday 16/3/18. It said something like, “press 1 now, I’m a case officer from HMRC and you have a legal case against you in court.” The call ended after that. Tried calling back using 1471 to check the number, turned out it was 01226780241. Definitely sounded dodgy to me!HMRCSubmit Your Own Report (01226 780241)
