this number claimed to be from bt but when i told them i doubted that they asked why and then i said i dont reckon bt ever rings from that number, and they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT Openreach, just like earlier this week. It was a woman with a foreign accent, and when I told her I didn’t want to chat, I just ended the call. Seems like another broadband scam going around.

Got a call from some number in Barnsley I didn’t recognise. Just went ahead and blocked it.

I saw the area code was local, so I picked up. It was a man with a foreign accent claiming to be from BT regarding my internet. I ended the call right away and blocked the number. Definitely a scam.

Some guy with an odd accent phoned me saying he’s from BT Openreach about my internet. I told him straight up that BT Openreach don’t ring people out of the blue and that this sounded dodgy. He wanted to know why I thought that, saying he was calling from 81 Newgate Street. I told him I was going to record the call, asked him again if he was okay with that, and warned I’d send it to the right people. Then he just hung up on me.
