Claimed to be from the postcode lottery. They rattled off a bunch of stats, just like those adverts you see on telly. Then they prodded me about my age group. That was the moment they launched into their sales pitch. Wanted my BANK DETAILS-no thanks, I’ve seen enough! I told them their parents would be mortified by this whole charade.

PLEASE READ. I genuinely won £7000 on the postcode lottery about six years ago. But today’s call was nothing like how the actual postcode lottery informs you. If you’re a player, smaller prizes like £10 are automatically paid into your bank account. Bigger wins are usually handed out at a shindig in the Vale Hotel function room. Even during Covid, they’d send you a cheque. Don’t hand over your personal info - they already have it. I had a bit of fun pretending to be a confused old lady on the phone for a good twenty minutes before telling them to take a hike!

Received a call at the crack of dawn, around 8am. The caller claimed to represent the postcode lottery and insisted my postcode had won a prize, offering a £40 voucher for shopping at places like Tescos and Sainsbury's. Lately, we’ve been getting these calls more and more often, especially after my missus accidentally picked up one from an unknown number.
