Appreciate the warning. I’ll make sure to block that number.

My landline got a call from this number 01226691851 about 4 times but when I picked up there was no voice or anything. Strange!

Some bloke rang me sounding all matey at first, but when I asked who it was, he just said it was about my account and then hung up. Maybe now I’m on some blacklist since I told him off for being dodgy before I cut him off! :) I thought about reporting it to Action Fraud like I saw someone else do, but couldn’t figure out how to do it for a phone call - their site seems more geared towards reporting actual theft or loss.

They called asking for me specifically, but I told them I wasn’t available. The moment I said that, they just ended the call. I looked the number up here afterwards and have blocked it since.

There was this Asian woman who seemed exceedingly curious about the way our home internet was set up. I found her inquiries rather peculiar and a bit unsettling, to be honest.

Got a call about renewing a TV warranty that I never even bought - total scam. The guy was really rude and just hung up on me when I tried asking him stuff. Pretty sure he caught on that I was wasting his time!

Got a call from some woman claiming to be from my bank or something. She was asking if my TV was working alright, then she went on about how my insurance coverage had been cut down to just a bit over £5. Thing is, I don’t even have any insurance with them! Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone claiming my TV, fridge, and freezer insurance dropped from £130 to £5.99 - I don’t even have that kind of coverage. I was polite, said thanks, and ended the call.

Got a call while I was tied up on a MS Teams meeting, so didn’t pick up. When I rang back the number, the message said the service was suspended 'cause they might’ve broken some rules. Finally, some action to crack down on these scammers, which is well overdue.

Looks like they’re using this number for all sorts of dodgy scams. Some bloke with an Indian accent called saying my phone bill was gonna be cut in half. I told him that’s not his decision, that’s the phone company’s call. Then he switched and asked if I wanted insurance on my appliances. I said hold on, you started with my phone bill, now you’re onto my appliances? He just dropped the call after that.

I got a call from this number saying my computer was running slow, and I told them I live at the top of a hill so surely it’d speed up going down. Pretty sure it’s just a cheeky scam attempt.

Got a call from this number to my 86 year old mum, saying they were an insurance firm covering her TV - though she hasn’t got any insurance on it at all. They said her insurance premium was dropping, but if she wanted to cancel, it would cost £130. They also tried to convince her that they already had her bank sort code and other details.

This bloke from India kept saying it was a toll free number, so I guessed it was dodgy and called him out. Next thing, he just ended the call.

I usually don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise since I’m wary of getting caught up in another scam like the one from Inspire-Telecom. Today, on 01.08.22, this unknown number rang me here in Croydon, Surrey. I’m thinking of just sending this number straight to my voicemail from now on.

Got a call from some bloke from Asia trying to scam me. He said if he managed to fool six more folks that day, he’d be able to bring his entire family over here and snag a posh house, maybe even nicer than mine, all paid for on my tab. Then he went on about having some extra cash left to maybe buy a few corner shops and call them something like GUPTAS INTERNATIONAL or whatever. Total rubbish!

So this bloke called about some TV extended warranty or whatever. He said the cover had expired, but I told him I’ve got a sheet over the telly so it’s still protected. That seemed to throw him off, and he just hung up. I’m retired and a bit bored, so these calls kinda break up the day for me.

I got a call from a bloke who sounded posh but had a bit of an accent. He reckoned my TV warranty had run out. Problem is, I don't even own a telly! So he quickly switched to asking about other gear in the house. Honestly, I kinda pity these guys making the calls - they must be proper stuck to be doing that job. It’s the crooks pulling the strings who should really be behind bars.

Some bloke with a thick Indian accent rang me, said his name was Gavin (sure mate!). Before he said anything, he wanted me to repeat the last four digits of my own number (seriously - you called me!). Then he started going on about some sort of appliance insurance deal. I just ended the call straight away. Honestly, OFCOM needs to step in and find out who's handing out our numbers to these scammers. They need a proper look into this rubbish.

So I got a call from a bloke with a really thick Asian accent the other day. He was asking where I got my landline from, if I had internet too, and how much I was shelling out for the line rental plus calls. It was all quite odd and a bit pushy really.

It’s quite unsettling to realise that these individuals possess my complete name, home address, and even my birth date. They suggested wiping away a significant portion of what they claimed I owed. While I was certain they were con artists, I’m honestly taken aback by the level of personal information they had at their disposal.

Watch out, this was a dodgy scam. A man with an Asian accent called me about some tv insurance. He asked for my birth date and bank info, which I obviously didn’t give. If it was a legit company I already pay, they’d know that stuff without me mentioning it. He told me to ring 0800 778 9104 if I had issues with my tv, said it was Reliable Appliance Repairs in Luton. I looked it up on Google and the reviews are sketchy, so be careful with that number!

Some bloke with a funny accent rang me up, asking for me by name and claiming he was from the appliance repair team. I didn't bother, just ended the call straight away. I've blocked loads of these types of numbers, but they just keep ringing back. Well, that's another one gone to the blocked list!

My elderly mum and dad keep getting calls from fraudsters in India with all sorts of made-up stories... Like something about their washing machine insurance or their TV contract needing to be renewed. I’m fed up with these scammers targeting old and vulnerable people like them. Honestly, the UK really needs to crack down on these dodgy callers once and for all.

Got a call from some call centre in India, apparently the guy's name was Benjamin but sounded more like Bhavish! He was asking if my phone was working alright, then suddenly started on about my TV. Told him I've already got it sorted and just hung up. You can call the number back if you want.

I've been getting loads of missed calls from this number, then a message pops up saying someone called Michelle Smith should ring them back on that number. Weird thing is, the texts don't actually show the number itself, just a sender called Lowell. I have no idea if it's some sort of scam or what because I neither know Lowell nor Michelle Smith, and I definitely ain't her!
