Got a ring from 01226666919, the person claimed I qualified for a free medical pendant because of my health condition, saying the local council recommended it. I have had some health troubles recently so I thought it wasn’t totally out of the blue. Still, I wasn’t keen and was pretty taken aback that my details must have been shared without my say so. I told them no thanks and the caller just hung up. From what I read in other comments, this sounds like a proper scam to me.

Got a call from a bloke named John claiming to be from some "Medical Alert Centre," trying to sell me a "free" medical alert pendant. He asked if I was over 50, which seemed odd. When I questioned him about where they got my details to think I’d qualify for this freebie, he just ended the call straight away. The number showed up as belonging to a "Marketing Company" based in Barnsley. Loads of people have been flagging this number, plus another one starting 01226 666, on these websites recently. Seriously, don’t get caught out by these scammers - all they want is to rob you blind.

Meanwhile, I kept asking why their company wasn’t listed on any medical alarm networks I know of. I told them that if I gave my address (which I didn’t), I’d be checking their reviews once I hung up.
