This Sunday morning, I was greeted by a rather peculiar robo-call claiming to be from HMRC. The message warned me that they possessed credible evidence linking me to some sort of tax fraud. It was oddly insistent that I simply press 1 to engage with one of their agents for further details and, allegedly, a means of resolution. Knowing full well that HMRC doesn’t operate in such a manner, I promptly hung up and blocked the number. What a right nuisance!

Got a call on a Saturday lockdown day during the COVID stuff, some bot claiming to be from HMRC saying I was caught up in a tax scam. They told me to press 1 if I wanted to sort it. I just ended the call and put the number straight on block.
