They claimed to be calling from Microsoft and said my computer account showed loads of error messages. I told them right away they couldn’t get into my computer. Then they said they weren’t going to access it but wanted to help me fix the issues by talking me through it. I asked if they really knew whose account it was and what my name was. They guessed “Mrs Vaga” or something similar, but that wasn’t me. After that, they just hung up.

This number has been linked to a well-known Talk Talk scam where they claim your computer is infected with viruses and hacked. They say you need your router replaced and promise to send out an engineer to fix it. They also mention you’re eligible for £200 compensation and then ask for your bank info. They were really pushy. I told them I didn’t have my bank details nearby, then they asked for my debit card number to transfer the money. I said I wasn’t sure where my card was at the moment, and they actually said they’d wait while I look for it and wouldn’t hang up. Proper dodgy!
