My elderly mate, who’s 80, got a call on their landline from 01226 340512 claiming they were from Amazon and that £300 had been taken from their bank. After looking carefully, there was no transaction at all. They don’t even shop with Amazon or have an account there. I’m not sure what these scammers are up to, but it’s worrying that these calls seem to be coming from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, which is where we’re from. It’s really upsetting for older people who don’t need this kind of bother. This message is on behalf of my friend who’s fed up with such nonsense.
