Utterly appalled by my recent experience with Utility Cover Limited. It appears they're operating through this number, 01226290167, which seems to be linked with another one, 01226395307. A while back, they contacted me, claiming that I had taken out some insurance policy with them back in 2015 - a notion I find completely absurd. They then presented me with two rather dubious options: pay £129 to renew this non-existent policy or cough up £99.99 to cancel it. It’s beyond me how they think they can pull this sort of stunt, as I’ve never had any association with their services whatsoever. I’m quite certain that those glowing reviews marked in green on the page for 01226290167 are nothing more than the handiwork of their staff, complicit in this deception.

People on here really make me laugh! For starters - there’s no such thing as fake offices 🧐 I can’t see how anyone could be ‘harassed’ by someone working from a fake office, it’s just nonsense! Also - the directors aren’t based in Bournemouth, so that’s wrong as well. And finally - don’t rely on call blocking systems, learn how to properly use the internet before trying to put others down! Got a call from someone claiming I signed up a couple years back to block nuisance calls, but said they couldn't take payment because my card was expired. I told them I never signed up for anything like that, but she kept insisting I did and that they'd stopped 78% of my nuisance calls. I called that out as nonsense. Then she said I owed £89 to cancel the contract. I told her no way I was paying and just hung up.

They said I’d signed up for a 5 year insurance plan back in 2017 for my TV, cable, boxes and remotes, paying £180. That amount covered the first 2 years, but now I supposedly owe another £180 for the remaining 3 years. If I want to cancel, it’ll set me back £89.99. They also warned that if I don’t pay either the £180 or the £89.99 cancellation charge, my account will be marked as overdue.

Proper cheeky and really bossy, they tried charging £150 for a TV warranty that’s for my elderly mum. It’s honestly worrying that these sorts of scams are targeting older folks!

They have several offices: Brighton (registered), Barnsley (sales), and Poole (admin). Also, it's pretty clear this isn't coming from a annoyed customer but more likely an ex-employee or mate of someone who works there. If you really were a customer, you'd have reached out to the company directly by letter, email or phone to get that info - not just spam a site all day. Having spent over a decade at places like utility cover, I can say that for sure. I'm not going to respond again as I've got plenty to sort out. I recently switched over and I’m pretty pleased with both the service and the money I’m saving every year. I was a bit curious about the Barnsley phone number at first, but it turns out their main office is in Barnsley, plus they’ve got other branches elsewhere. They just use the same customer service number for all offices, so I don’t really get why some folks think it’s a scam. Their registered address in Brighton is just a mailing address so customers can get in touch. How does that make them scammers? Seems a bit unfair to me.

Got a call from someone called "Ellie" using this number, saying she was with "We Cover It" and that we missed a payment on our policy. Problem is, we don’t have any policy with a company by that name. I looked up the number and came across a site for "Utility Cover Ltd," which offers warranties for household gadgets, showing this same number but with an address in Hove (Brighton). That area code should be 01273 though. Seems like a complete scam to me.

It’s honestly a bit worrying that you spend all day lurking on this site, just waiting for someone to reply. If you had a real problem with the company and actually worked for the government (which sounds like a total fib), you’d just get in touch with them straight away using one of their many contact options. The truth is, you probably work for some third party firm, otherwise you’d have the nerve to call them yourself. Seriously, grow up, find a proper job and make some mates. Received a call from someone called Ellie claiming I owed £150 for stopping nuisance calls. I asked her for her surname but she wouldn't say. Then I asked for the director's full name, she just gave a first name, no last name. She asked for my credit card details, which I refused to provide. When I said I'd look the company up online, she hung up. Asked them to send me some paperwork but they refused. Sounds like a scam to me.

To those slagging this company off, I want to share what happened with my dad. He got a call from a woman named Ellie. While talking, he suddenly fell and couldn’t pick up the phone. After a while of no reply, Ellie ended the call and rang 999. It turned out my dad was having a heart attack, and thankfully Ellie thought quick and got help. Not every company is dodgy, some actually care.

What a dreadful scam! It appears to specifically prey on vulnerable older folks, claiming that their insurance for repairing household gadgets is about to expire, despite the fact that they’ve never had a policy with them. My father, who suffers from Alzheimer's, fell victim to this - they tricked him into parting with £89.99 over the phone. It's utterly appalling!

Actually, the people I dealt with were quite pleasant. I chatted with two women - one when setting up my policy and another when I called to cancel as I already had another one. In the end, I decided to keep this policy! Not sure why some folks have a problem with them. Personally, I’ve had loads of calls from utility firms over the years, so no big deal for me.

Got a really annoying call from a lady claiming i owed £124.99 for some protection cover on my tv, satellite and kitchen gear.
