Got a call today from someone with an Asian accent who said they were from Microsoft. For months now, I’ve tried picking up when they ring, but all I end up getting is silence or a message that the caller has disconnected, all from the same number. Pretty annoying to be honest.

My mum got a call earlier and I grabbed the phone off her. Told the bloke she’s 93 and to leave her alone. Then he asked if I had a computer. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away!

Got a call from an Asian guy using that number. He claimed some hacker was trying to break into my computer and they’d been alerted about it. He got the names mixed up, but it turned out the name he mentioned was actually my husband’s. I told him I’d ring Microsoft to confirm, and instantly he said I’d lose my computer access and then just cut the call. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

I've had over half a dozen calls from this number claiming that there's an issue with the Windows system on my laptop. The moment I mention that I actually use a Mac, they quickly switch tactics and insist there's a problem with that instead! I’ve explicitly asked them to refrain from calling me again and then just hang up. It's quite infuriating!

Today, I got a call from this number claiming they were from Microsoft and that my computer was hacked. I played along for a bit, maybe seven minutes, even though I knew it was a load of rubbish. In the end, I told them I didn’t even own a computer, and as soon as I said that, they just hung up straight away.

Received a rather suspicious call this afternoon from this number, claiming to represent Microsoft and informing me that my computer had been compromised. I played along for roughly seven minutes, but it soon became clear they were trying it on. When I finally told the chap on the other end that I didn’t even own a computer, he promptly hung up as if the line had gone dead. Quite the dodgy business!

Microsoft doesn't ring you up out of the blue, only if you've reached out to them to start with. These folks want your cash and might try to get control of your PC if you let them. Just say no to any permissions and hang up quickly - they won't keep calling if you ignore their demands. Top tier scammers alert, so watch out.

A guy with an Asian accent rang me saying he was from Microsoft, claiming my PC had been hacked multiple times today. He asked me to get online while we talked. I told him I thought he was the hacker himself, then he gave me a computer number or something to ‘prove’ it, and asked me to turn my screen on. I told him his story didn’t sound right and asked for his full details and a contact number so I could verify who he really was. Then the call just cut off.

Got a call from a woman saying she was with Microsoft, saying my computer was hacked. I told her Microsoft never rings people like that, hoping it would scare her off. She kept going on about how my case was “special” and that’s why they had to call me directly. I just said I'd get in touch with Microsoft on my own and then ended the call. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from this number around half ten this morning. They were after remote access to my computer, can you believe it? I firmly told them there was no chance they’d be getting into my device and instructed them to leave me be, making it clear I didn’t want any further calls. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that won’t deter them from bothering me again in the future!

Got a call from some bloke saying he was Michael from Windows, supposedly calling from Reading. I wasn’t convinced he was telling the truth, so I just ended the call. Then he rang back straight away. I recently received a telephone call from this number not long ago. The person on the other end alleged they were representing Microsoft. It was clear to me that it was a con, and I let it be known that I wasn’t falling for their tricks. Got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft, with that common Indian accent you often hear in scams. Just a heads up to everyone - Microsoft doesn't bother if your computer’s been hacked, all they do is sell you the software. Once that’s done, they couldn’t care less about what happens next. Don’t fall for anyone saying your PC is compromised. Seriously, why on earth would they be so generous to help you? Use a bit of common sense here. I usually just say I’m qualified with Microsoft (which I am), and they quickly disappear.
