Someone called me claiming to be from Ofcom and warned that my internet would be cut off in 24 hours because of a hacking attempt. They told me to press 1 to speak to a technician, which I did. They then said someone would ring the next day to check my internet setup. I contacted my provider straight away, and they confirmed my internet wasn’t going to be disconnected and advised me not to share any info or let anyone in. When I tried calling back the number 01226 247875, it was just dead silence on the line.
