This morning I got a call from a woman who sounded like she had an Asian accent, claiming to be from some National Roof Insulation Survey. The number showed up as 01225 982448, which I reckon is a fake or spoofed number. As soon as I picked up, it felt like the call was coming from abroad, not somewhere in the UK. When I began asking about who exactly she was working for, she quickly hung up - which, from my experience, is a common reaction to keep themselves away from too many questions. She didn’t say anything rude or inappropriate before ending the call, mind.

I got a call from 01225982448, some Asian woman called Victoria, said she was from Right House. Sounded like a call centre trying to do some survey about energy. Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent asking for a Mr. Seymore Butts. I told her my name was Mike Hunt and mentioned I don’t have a house. She hung up straight away. Lesson learned: use funny names like these to mess with scammers and see who’s on the phone.

Got a call where they said it wasn’t a sales pitch, asked to speak to me. Then they quickly started asking if I qualified for some new heating fee. I just ended the call. Feels like a total scam to me.

Got a call from someone who already knew my name. They wanted me to do a survey, but I said no thanks and asked where they got my number from. She said it was from some past surveys I supposedly did. I told her I'd never done any surveys ever, and then she got quite snappy and just ended the call. Lovely experience.
