Got a call from a woman about renewing some boiler insurance or something. I never signed up for any and have no plans to buy it, especially not from some dodgy phone caller. I told her straight I don't have boiler cover and she just cut me off.

Also got messages on my machine from this number saying my appliance cover's about to expire, which it isn't. They’re just trying to get your bank info to nick your cash. Just hang up, it’s a total con.

They kept talking about this boiler cover I supposedly have with them and how the price was going to be lowered. They wanted me to set up a new direct debit on the phone to get the discount. When I said I didn’t have any such cover and refused to share my details, they just told me I was wasting their time and ended the call. Total scam.

I answered the call and the voice immediately rattled off my name and address. When I asked what they wanted, the line went dead. The caller had this posh English tone but really, someone with that kind of accent should’ve got better morals than trying to con vulnerable folks. I just hope if anyone tries that on her family, they wrap it up quick.

This number rings me nearly every single day. They always leave a voicemail saying it’s about some domestic appliance insurance and that they’ll be ringing back the next day. It’s obvious it’s a scam. I’m really curious who on earth passed my phone number to these lot. This exact message has been popping up loads over the last few weeks, but from different phone numbers, all of which I’ve blocked now. Other numbers linked to this are 01315690006, 01315690018, 01315690034, 01315690035, and 02045711727. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

I kept asking them to say it again but couldn’t catch who they said they were from. When they wanted to speak to my dad, I tried sounding like him as best as I could. They asked if I was the person who owned the house, and I said yes. Then they went on about some engineer visit for the heating system. Our boiler was just serviced a few weeks back but the call didn’t seem like it was from the official company. When I told them no engineer had been around, they suddenly said they were ringing about the boiler insurance instead. I told them straight up that wasn’t true and ended the call.
