Someone kept ringing me up saying they were from HP and wanted to talk to our IT manager about some “urgent business matter.” They refused to send an email and called repeatedly. The number they used doesn’t match any official HP line I could find. Honestly, if it was really important business, wouldn’t they have a proper contact already? Plus, they didn’t even know our IT manager’s name, which seemed fishy to me.

I kept getting calls from a number I didn’t recognise.

For the past five years, we've been reaching out to TPS, yet it appears our efforts have been routinely overlooked. We made it clear that we were in alliance with software legislation, ensuring that everything we used was above board. However, all we wish to do is engage in a bit of marketing. They even subtly hinted that the BSA might come knocking to inspect our software usage, which feels a bit menacing if I'm honest.

She mentioned that she represented the Software Alliance and was ensuring that the software I was using was above board. However, she also suggested that they needed to carry out some marketing efforts. It felt a bit like she was subtly implying that the BSA might pay me a visit to investigate my software setup.

We've been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for the last five years, yet it seems as though our requests are being overlooked time and again.
