Received a call from someone with an Asian accent, who introduced themselves as representing Microsoft from Leicester (though I believe 01225 is tied to Bath). They insisted that I was in serious jeopardy, claiming that my computer had been severely compromised by hackers up to no good. The chap went on to show me some rather peculiar things on my PC, which I had deliberately unplugged from the internet. When he pressed me to reconnect, I hesitated, and after about 20 minutes, the call abruptly ended. By the time I looked into the number, they'd already attempted to get through to me another four times!

I received a call claiming to be from Microsoft, stating that there was a problem with my computer. I informed them that I didn’t even own a computer, and the line went quiet. They then inquired whether my last name was Evans, to which I replied in the negative (which was true, by the way). I probed further about how they managed to get my number when I didn’t possess a computer. Having encountered this kind of scam in the past, I decided to feign ignorance about my computer ownership... then, without warning, they hung up.

About half an hour ago, I received a call purporting to be from Microsoft. I must admit, my instincts kicked in straight away as I’m quite savvy when it comes to security matters. I requested a contact number, despite the call originating from the number that appeared on my phone, and they provided the rather dubious number 18005438160 - which, funnily enough, is associated with some Chinese logos online. When I pressed for an address, they gave me 207 Melton Road, Leicester LE46QT. To my surprise, that's the location of the Hinkley & Rugby Building Society! Their confidence in sharing this information was shocking and almost felt confrontational. To top it all off, they referred to me by the name of a former resident who unfortunately passed away over 16 years ago! It's imperative that these individuals are brought to account, as there are many unsuspecting people who could fall victim to this and grant them access to their computers.

Last night, I received a call from a chap of Asian descent claiming there was an issue with the Windows system on their server. I instantly realised it was a scam as I’m a proud Mac user. When he abruptly asked me to point out certain keys on my device, it was clear he was trying to figure out if I was using a Mac or a PC. I ended the conversation, but oddly enough, roughly twenty minutes afterward, my desktop Mac powered itself on without any input from me. My internet is linked via cable, and my phone operates independently, so there’s no chance I divulged any info or interacted with my computer inappropriately (though my MacBook was still on). Is there any likelihood they could’ve hacked in somehow, or is it simply a bizarre coincidence?

I've had this Asian-accented lady ring me from this number six times just this week. She insists she's representing Microsoft. The last two calls, I simply cut the line. I tried calling back, but the number doesn't seem to exist. Is there any method to prevent these kinds of calls from getting through?

Had a call just a couple of minutes ago. An Asian bloke on the line who seemed quite put out when I inquired about how much he was trying to fleece from my computer! He stuck rigidly to his little spiel, so I decided to cut the conversation short...

I had a rather frustrating experience with a so-called Microsoft technician. They rattled off a mediocre script, clearly lifted from a bad template, and seemed rather taken aback when I informed them that I don't possess a Windows key-instead, I proudly have a little penguin symbol! Undeterred, they attempted to continue with their spiel as if nothing had happened. Quite disappointing, really.

It's a con, to put it plainly. Steer clear of downloading anything they suggest or parting with your cash. For more info, take a look here:

This afternoon, I had the dubious pleasure of getting three phone calls, following on from two others yesterday. An Asian-accented lady informed me that my computer was allegedly sending out infected messages linked to my Windows ID. Naturally, I was wary and pressed her on her identity and her motives for wanting to assist me with this supposed issue. She just regurgitated the same points and pushed me to turn on my computer so she could demonstrate where the "problems" lay. When I probed her further, she abruptly ended the call. However, she hasn’t let up and has ringed me twice more today. I can assure you, I won’t be turning on my computer for her antics!

I received a call at the crack of dawn, specifically 8.00 on a Saturday, which truly boiled my blood before the conversation even began. Like many others, I found myself on the line with a woman whose accent was distinctly Asian, trying to chat about my computer issues. The moment I pushed back on her claims, she promptly disconnected. Today, they tried reaching out once more, but I opted not to pick up. I can’t shake the feeling that they’re going to keep harassing me.

I've had three phone calls now from someone urging me to switch on my computer, claiming there's an issue. An Asian gentleman keeps phoning from the same number, 01225766466, and it's really starting to annoy me!

I recently received a rather dubious phone call from this number, where a voice, seemingly of Asian descent, claimed my computer was sending out harmful messages. She insisted that I needed to power up my machine so she could guide me through some settings to rectify the issue. Naturally, I was quite sceptical about the whole scenario. I politely declined her assistance and promptly ended the call.

Received a call from this number, which seems to be from my area. The caller insisted that my computer was spreading some sort of harmful messages. They then inquired if I was the account holder. I responded with, "I don’t disclose any details over the," and before I could finish my sentence with 'phone', the line went dead. The woman, who had an Asian accent, claimed she was representing PCC. I suspect they’ll likely ring back from a different number before long!

Hello everyone! Just a quick heads-up about a rather dodgy scam that appears to be making the rounds globally. I've received two calls this week from the same number, 01225766466, which seems to be linked to another one, 02034592077, in the UK. Both times, they claimed my Windows computer had been compromised. During the first call, I engaged with them, attempting to uncover their identity and how they obtained my number. I was taken aback by their aggressive tactics, especially considering I don’t even use Windows! Today, I got another call, and when I informed them I was already aware of their nonsense and didn’t use Windows, they promptly hung up. So, I urge you all to stay vigilant against these persistent nuisance calls. Don’t let them manage to pull a fast one on you!

I was rather taken aback to receive a call from a number that wasn’t blocked, so I decided to hear the fraudster out. However, I quickly concocted a reason to cut the chat short, telling him to ring me back another time. I’m using a Shrewsbury number beginning with 01743. He suggested I input “eventvwr” into my computer, and that’s where our little exchange came to a halt.

I received a call around half past nine tonight. They had tried to reach me earlier, but I didn’t catch it in time. The person on the line claimed to be from technical services. I decided to end the conversation. The caller had a foreign accent, or at least that's how it seemed to me.

As with several others' experiences, I've received a handful of calls this week from a rather pushy individual, or perhaps even multiple callers. The latest encounter was just this evening when he insisted I switch on my computer, claiming it was essential to rectify alleged issues stemming from some sort of illicit activity. When I firmly informed him I had no intention of complying and requested he cease all further communications, he bluntly warned, "If you choose to ignore me, Madam, your computer will be rendered useless in half an hour; I’ll wipe everything clean." He came off as incredibly smug, and when I probed him about whether he represented Microsoft, he nodded in affirmation. Well, it's now been over thirty minutes and my computer remains as functional as ever, so I believe I'll simply brush this off and move on with my day.

I had a rather unsettling experience with an individual from India who threatened to disable my computer if I didn’t adhere to the steps he was outlining. We made our way to the command prompt, and to my surprise, he accurately recited my licence number. How bizarre is that? Would love to hear some thoughts on this!

Received a couple of rather bothersome calls quite late, one around half nine and another just after ten, from a rather tenacious gentleman claiming to be from Microsoft. Every time I mentioned he must have dialled the wrong number, he just kept talking over me. Honestly, it’s becoming quite irritating!

I've been inundated with missed calls from this number, but I finally picked up the phone. A chap from Pakistan claimed that someone at my address is downloading some pretty nasty viruses, worse than he’s ever seen. When I mentioned that I live alone, he insisted he needed to delete my Microsoft software from my netbook, saying it was automatically pulling in harmful stuff. Is this for real or just a scam? I could use some advice before he decides to call me again in a couple of hours!

I reckon these calls might be tied to some dodgy dealings, considering their constant claims of having 'proof' that my personal firewall has been compromised by cybercriminals. It feels like a potential scam aimed at fishing for personal details. I got a call this evening at around 8:40 PM on my home phone in Oxfordshire.
