I didnt pick up when they called but I always look them up on here afterwards.

Lately, we've been receiving plenty of calls from unknown numbers. This one was no exception. Whenever we don’t know the caller, we put the answering machine on. As expected, they never bother leaving a voicemail. But since the machine picks up, they end up paying a connection charge. We never bother calling these numbers back because it could be linked to a premium rate line. Honestly, some folks will try anything rather than doing proper work.

I missed the call at first, but decided to ring back a few minutes later. When I did, an automated voice with a US accent greeted me, saying something like, "Thanks for getting in touch. If you want to opt out, leave your name, phone number, and postcode, and we’ll process it within 72 hours." Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend opting out. If you do, you end up handing over current info that they can’t use themselves, but they might pass it along to another company who can.

Got another annoying call today, I picked up but no one said anything and then the phone just cut off. It's so frustrating, they really need to find a way to deal with these people. I've ended up blocking way more numbers this year than all the years before combined. From Lincolnshire here.

Got a call where someone said they were from HMRC. They told me there was a fraud issue with my account and asked me to press 1 to sort it out. Seemed dodgy to me.

It’s really worrying how they have my full name, address and even my postcode. I warned the person that I’d be reporting them to the police and then they just cut the call. Seriously, something needs to be done about these calls, especially to protect vulnerable people.
