I've received a couple of calls from this number, and each time, it was a woman’s voice on the answerphone warning me that my internet service is about to be terminated due to some supposed illegal activities. When I pressed '1' to get more information, I was connected to someone with an Indian accent, but honestly, I could hardly grasp what he was saying apart from the fact that my internet would be disconnected. The background noise was akin to that of a busy office, which added to the confusion. I was quite anxious until I realised it was all a scam!

I've just had my second call from these folks claiming to be with the Telephone Preference Service. They insist they can put an end to all those pesky unsolicited calls starting tomorrow. They requested my address confirmation and even tried to pry my card’s expiry date from me. The last time they called, the caller demanded the account number from my cheque book! Every time I mention I’m not comfortable sharing that sort of information, they just cut the line. It’s quite suspicious, isn't it?

They kept ringing every ten to twenty minutes, so I've finally decided to block their number.

Received a call at precisely 12:20 from a softly spoken lady of Asian descent. She claimed to be representing a firm dedicated to curbing unwanted calls. She asked me to verify my name and address, both of which she had correct. Then, she mentioned, “I see you settle your phone bill via direct debit,” to which I nodded in agreement. Subsequently, she stated, “Your account number wraps up with ...” providing me with a series of four digits. I pointed out that this was erroneous and promptly said, “Goodbye, please refrain from contacting me again.” I immediately rang my bank, and they informed me they are aware this is a frequent occurrence. As I reviewed my phone history, I discovered I’d been plagued by daily missed calls from them over the past week.

I've had this number repeatedly calling me, despite having it blocked on my end. It’s quite clear they’re just trying to pull a fast one, so I’m steering clear of answering. Pure scam, if you ask me!

Received a call earlier today; they seemed to have some details and wanted to know the expiry date of my debit card. I flat-out refused to provide any information, which prompted her to push for it even more. Then, a supervisor took over the call and also pressed me for the information. Eventually, after a bit of back and forth, the original caller returned, requesting the number found at the bottom of my cheque book, claiming it was some sort of "identification number." As I reiterated my refusal, she grew increasingly persistent. I was warned that these sorts of nuisance calls would become a regular occurrence! If you happen to have them on the line and can spare a minute or two, try leading them on with false details - it really seems to get under their skin, and that small victory makes it a touch more bearable for us.

Today, I received a rather concerning phone call. The caller was well-informed about my name, address, and postcode, even mentioning that I had an account with BT and that I settle my bills via direct debit. They then veered towards my debit card details. When they requested the expiry date, I cleverly provided a made-up one. However, they pressed for the numbers printed underneath the 16-digit code, which I didn't have at hand, so I chose to hang up. It seems they must be in possession of some outdated details, as I actually changed my name a good 17 years ago. I'm grateful to everyone sharing their experiences here; it’s beneficial. Thankfully, I’ve got enough savvy to avoid divulging personal information.

I've received an incessant barrage of ten calls today, and the intervals between each one grew shorter. Despite having an answering machine, I chose not to pick up, and interestingly, none of the callers bothered to leave a message. It clearly smells like a scam to me!

Received a cheeky ring from this number earlier. An Asian gentleman claimed to be representing the TPS, inquiring whether I was still plagued by nuisance calls. I responded with a simple no, to which he remarked that it clearly meant the TPS was performing its duties effectively. However, he then dropped the bombshell that it would be shutting down the very next day, and I’d have to reregister. I firmly stated that I wouldn't need to, and like that, he vanished. I've since blocked the number, but I'm sure they've got a whole host of others up their sleeves, so I’ll be keeping an ear out for any further disturbances.

I had a rather disconcerting phone call the other day, supposedly from the BT Preference Service. They wanted to verify our banking details, claiming it was necessary to confirm we were the account holder, which would then allow them to register us as members. Naturally, we declined to give any information. To our surprise, a manager then joined the call and started making rather aggressive remarks, trying to pressure us into revealing our details by threatening that we wouldn't be covered otherwise. After a rather tense five minutes of back-and-forth, he finally hung up when we stood our ground. Be wary - this is clearly a SCAM!

This number rang me saying they were with the TPS. What a load of rubbish. They asked for the last 3 digits of my bank card and also details about my cheque book. I won't lie, I gave them a mouthful before hanging up. Then the cheeky blokes called back, wondering why I ended the call. Even though they're obvious scammers, they might trick some older or vulnerable folk who take them seriously. They're a real threat to the public - please warn any elderly people you know about these con artists.

I've received a staggering number of calls today-probably close to a dozen! When I finally decided to pick up the phone, the line went silent! With all the family matters I’m currently juggling, being bombarded with these calls is rather inconvenient as I need to keep LINE clear. This situation is really getting out of hand! We enrolled with TPS yonks ago, but honestly, what good is it if the nuisance continues?

I've had three calls from them today. The first one came while we were out, and they didn’t bother leaving a message. On the second call, they hung up the moment I picked up. The third was quite strange-some lady with an accent was on the line. I found it hard to follow what she was saying, but it seemed like she was claiming to be the sole legitimate call-blocking service we needed to engage with. Honestly, the whole exchange was baffling, so I decided to cut the conversation short and hang up.

I received a barrage of six calls from this number just yesterday afternoon. I only picked up the first one and let the others ring out. However, this morning they switched things up and called from a withheld number, so I decided to answer it. On the line was a gentleman with a distinctly Asian accent who asked to speak to a Mrs Smith. I confronted him directly and requested both his name and the name of his organisation. Fingers crossed this puts an end to their persistent nuisance, as it's becoming quite bothersome.

Supposedly from BT preference service ringing to verify our bank info to check if we were the account holder so they could sign us up. When we said no, the manager got involved and started making threatening comments trying to pressure us into giving the details or else they wouldnt offer any coverage. Total scam.

Definitely looks like a scammer, not actually from Bath. I'm already on the UK's Telephone Preference Service list, so this caller is likely breaking the law, but they’re probably overseas.

In the space of merely an hour, I received four calls, all from Asian-sounding representatives keen to verify my information for some system upgrade. I firmly informed them that I refuse to disclose any personal details over the phone and would be more than willing to send the necessary documents through the post, given the right assurances. Unsurprisingly, they weren't particularly pleased with my response-strange, isn’t it? By the time the fourth call came, my patience wore thin, and I mentioned legal action should they persist in this harassment. To my relief, the last caller-a woman of Asian descent-hung up without further ado. No more calls have come through since then. Victory!

01225335123 has rung us 6 times today. We didn’t even notice the calls at first (the phone never rang) until I had a look at our Sky Talk Shield, which had blocked this number automatically. It’s really frustrating that these people keep pestering folks like this. Wish the police could do something about it, because the number shows a Bath area code but it might actually be from overseas. The new Sky Talk Shield has proper helped us loads, cutting spam calls from around 4-20 every day to none at all. I’d definitely tell anyone with Sky to get it.

Received a phone call from a woman claiming to be with the Telephone Preference Service. She inquired whether I still wished to be on their registry. I replied in the affirmative, and she proceeded to read out my details for verification. After I confirmed the information, she suddenly requested my debit card information, stating it was merely a way to validate her records. I immediately sensed something wasn't right, so I declined to provide any further information and ended the call.

A lady with an Asian accent called saying she was from "Telephone Preference Management" and asked if I get annoying calls. I told her yes, like this one. There's no such organisation. Sounds just like the "your computer has problems" scam. Best to just block them whenever possible.

I received a rather dubious call today from a company claiming they could offer me lifetime coverage. I mentioned it was supposed to be complimentary, but they insisted otherwise. They recited my name, address, and even my postcode back to me, albeit they managed to get the postcode wrong-though I kept that to myself. Then, they had the audacity to ask for the expiration date on my debit card. So, I promptly decided to end the conversation there.

Just got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said his name was Neil. He claimed he was from the telephone preference service and asked if I was getting unwanted calls. I told him, "yeah, and this is exactly one of them. If you were actually from TPS, you wouldn’t be ringing me like this." Then he just hung up on me.

Received a rather peculiar call today from a chap who seemed to be of Asian descent. The poor bloke sounded as if he was speaking through a long pipe at a break-neck speed-imagine 500 miles an hour! Honestly, I couldn't catch a single word he uttered, so I let him babble away at his own expense for a bit before I decided to cut him off.

I received a rather peculiar call from a gentleman with an Asian accent, inquiring whether I was still receiving unwanted marketing calls. He claimed to represent a "telephone preference" service. I got this number after ringing 1471, and it turned out to be 02036305457. An Asian woman named Mary called me, claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. She stated that my phone was "covered" and requested some more details to complete the process. When she asked me to verify my address, I decided to ask for her contact number instead, saying I'd ring her back. I ended the call right then and there-definitely a scam!

01225335123 is defo not a legit business. They sound so unprofessional on the phone which is odd cos they say they’re from some call blocking service. Tried to chat properly but they just kept trying to sucker info out of me, dodging my questions and hung up when I said I thought it was a scam. That pretty much proved it for me. Don’t waste your time or share any personal details like your name, address, or bank info with them.

Got back home to find a long voicemail. At first, it sounded like someone was just trying to say hi and get my name right. Then they slowly figured out it was an answering machine and started wasting time by humming. Could hear some background noise that reminded me of a call centre. Fingers crossed they don’t ring back.

Spoke with a lady who sounded Indian, I think she said her name was Sunita, but not totally sure. The chat was pretty much like what others have described, but she called me by my partner’s last name! She did know my address and postcode and asked how I paid the bill (Direct Debit). Then she wanted to check the expiry date on my credit card - I told her she didn’t need that info. She said it was just to confirm my previous registration details, so I told her I never gave that info before and wasn’t about to now, then I hung up. Later I searched online and found this site.

I am utterly fed up with this number constantly ringing me! An Asian woman claimed she was reaching out regarding call blocking-can you believe it? I had to chuckle as I told her I'm already registered with the Telephone Preference Service. Clearly, that doesn’t seem to do the trick since she still managed to get through to me. And guess what? She hung up right after that! It's fortunate that the TPS is free, otherwise I'd be demanding a refund, as it appears to be completely ineffectual.

I received a call from a woman with a distinct Indian accent. She mentioned that she would be putting a stop to all the annoying calls we've been getting. When she inquired if we settled our phone bill via direct debit, I explained that my husband normally handles those matters. She insisted that I, too, could make choices regarding the account since I'm listed as an account holder. After confirming our number - which she clearly had just dialled - I grew increasingly uneasy, as she seemed to have an alarming amount of personal information about us. Is it standard practice for BT to share all our details? Feeling rather cautious, I decided to end the conversation abruptly.

Today, I received a call at my elderly parents' residence from this number. When I requested the caller's full name, the name of the company, and their phone number to jot it all down, the caller had the audacity to question whether I had dementia simply because I was taking notes. It was utterly disgraceful behaviour. As mentioned by others, this call was supposedly linked to the TPS, but that's clearly not the case. The troubling part is that one of my parents is actually living with dementia and could easily have fallen victim to this sort of trickery.
