twice this number rang me up saying my internet was about to get disconnected due to some illegal stuff, but when i picked up, it was a woman's voicemail saying press 1 for info. then an indian bloke answered but i couldn’t catch much apart from the threat about my internet being cut off. there was loads of noise in the back like it was a busy office. i was proper stressed till i realised it was just a scam.

I've gotten two calls from these folks now. They're claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service and say they can block all those annoying calls starting the next day. They tried to get me to confirm my address and then asked for my card's expiry date. On the previous call, they even asked for the account number printed on my bank cheque! Every time I say no to handing over that information, they just cut off the call.

I got a call around 12:20 from a softly spoken Asian lady claiming she worked for a company that stops nuisance calls. She asked me to confirm my name and address, which she somehow knew perfectly. Then she said, "you pay your phone bill by direct debit, right?" and I said yes. After that, she mentioned the last four digits of my account number, but they were wrong. I told her to stop calling me and hung up. I called my bank straight away and they said this scam has been happening a lot lately. Checking my missed calls, I noticed I've been getting calls from them almost every day this past week.

Someone rang me earlier today, already armed with a bit of info, and then started asking for the expiry date on my debit card. I refused to share anything, but the caller pressed on. Then a supervisor popped in, pushing even harder. Eventually, they gave up, but the first person came back asking for the number found at the bottom of a cheque book, said it was some sort of ID number! I kept refusing, but she became quite pushy, warning I'd get endless nuisance calls if I didn't cooperate. If you ever get them on the line and have time, just mess around and feed them false details - it drives them mad and gives us a tiny bit of payback.

So, I got called earlier and the person on the other end already had my full name, address and even my postcode. They mentioned I was with BT and paying by direct debit, then tried to chat about my debit card. I ended up giving them a fake expiry date, but when they asked for that number underneath the 16-digit card number, I told them I didn’t have my card nearby and hung up straight away. It’s creepy how they got all my details since I actually changed my name 17 years ago. Big thanks to everyone sharing their experiences here, it really helps. Luckily, I knew not to share any real personal info with them.

Today got a call from this number. Some guy with an asian accent claimed he was from the TPS, asking if I’m still getting loads of spam calls. I got called four times in just one hour, all by Asian ladies trying to verify my info to "update their system". I told them I never share personal details over the phone and would rather send everything by post with proper papers. They didn’t seem too pleased with that (no idea why!). By the fourth call, I lost my cool and told them if they kept pestering me, I’d take legal action. The woman on the line just hung up. After that, I didn’t get any more calls - so that’s a win in my book!

01225335123 has rung us 6 times today. We didn’t even notice the calls at first (the phone never rang) until I had a look at our Sky Talk Shield, which had blocked this number automatically. It’s really frustrating that these people keep pestering folks like this. Wish the police could do something about it, because the number shows a Bath area code but it might actually be from overseas. The new Sky Talk Shield has proper helped us loads, cutting spam calls from around 4-20 every day to none at all. I’d definitely tell anyone with Sky to get it.

Tried to chat properly but they just kept trying to sucker info out of me, dodging my questions and hung up when I said I thought it was a scam. That pretty much proved it for me. Don’t waste your time or share any personal details like your name, address, or bank info with them.

Got a call like this too, from a man with an Asian accent, looking for someone called Mr Patel. When he asked me to confirm my name, I said no because he couldn’t prove he was legit. Then, when I called him out, he claimed he was with the TPS. Definitely felt like a total scam to me.

Had a call from this number, some Asian lady claimed she was from TPS and wanted to check my info. She knew my name and address, then mentioned the expiry date was 3/17. I told her I wasn’t going to give out any bank details as I never did before. She then got a bit rude, asked if I’d even been asked for bank details, and just hung up on me.

Got a call today from a guy claiming to be from some telephone protection thing. He was Asian and his English was pretty poor. Asked if we’re still getting spam calls, my wife said she was actually on one then. He tried to get some info out of us but failed. He did know our address but my wife didn’t confirm it. She finished the call by telling him to send a formal request in writing, then just hung up.

Got back home to find a long voicemail. At first, it sounded like someone was just trying to say hi and get my name right. Then they slowly figured out it was an answering machine and started wasting time by humming. Could hear some background noise that reminded me of a call centre. Fingers crossed they don’t ring back.

got a call from this number saying it was from the TPS, told me I was already on their list then kept asking if my phone bills were paid by direct debit, next thing he wanted my bank sort code and account number. I didn’t give anything away and just brushed him off. he said he’d call back in 6 days but never did. honestly, I reckon this was a scam and people should know about it.

Received a few calls from this number and 02036305457 earlier claiming to be from some telephony preference service. They asked for my debit card info to "check the account". I fed them bogus details and they even said that’s what they showed on their system. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Spoke with a lady who sounded Indian, I think she said her name was Sunita, but not totally sure. The chat was pretty much like what others have described, but she called me by my partner’s last name! She did know my address and postcode and asked how I paid the bill (Direct Debit). Then she wanted to check the expiry date on my credit card - I told her she didn’t need that info. She said it was just to confirm my previous registration details, so I told her I never gave that info before and wasn’t about to now, then I hung up. Later I searched online and found this site.

Just got a call from this number a moment ago. A man with an Asian accent claimed he was calling from TPS and wanted to verify my name, address, and other info. He said he needed to check the details of my monthly phone direct debits. When he asked for my bank card expiry date, I told him that’s private and I wasn’t sharing that over the phone. I told him I didn’t trust the call and ended the call straight away. He kept ringing me back but I didn't pick up.

This number has been ringing me non stop. Some woman with an Asian accent said it was about call blocking. I laughed and told her I'm already on the TPS list. Clearly, that doesn’t do much good since she got through anyway. Then she just hung up on me! Glad TPS is free, honestly I’d want a refund if I’d paid for it because it’s totally ineffective.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was John and even rattled off my address. Claimed he was from TPS and asked if I was still getting annoying calls. Then he tried to get my debit card info, said it was just to confirm my account, and he already knew the card expiry date. Then she said I still get to make choices on the account since I’m also named on it. She claimed to have just rung our number when I asked if she checked it. She seemed to know way too much about us, do BT really share that info? I told her I didn't trust the call and ended it.

Watch out for this bloke! He sounds Indian and says he’s from TPS, promising to stop all your annoying calls. He’ll ask to verify your address and make sure you pay by direct debit, then try to get your bank card info. That’s when you need to tell him to jog on.

I got a call from an Asian woman who said she was ringing about some phone blocking service. She asked if the number I gave her was right and I said yes, it was the one I had just called. Then she mentioned my address and asked if I pay my bill by direct debit, which I confirmed. But when she started bringing up my account numbers, I told her she had no right to talk about my accounts and I ended the call straight away.

Got a call today from this number, someone asking for my old mum. It’s disgusting how they target elderly folks like that. These scam calls are just terrible and really take advantage of older people. Honestly, something needs to be done to stop these pests, they’re a real nightmare for the older generation!

Got a call today at my elderly parent's place from this number. When I tried to get the caller’s full name, their company, and their phone number to note it down, the person on the line actually asked if I had dementia just because I was writing things down. Proper rude. Loads of folks have mentioned it’s meant to be from the TPS, but it’s definitely not. What worries me most is that one of my parents really does suffer from dementia and could easily have been tricked by this.
