So, I got a call from this number but it just dropped before I could answer. I actually ended up talking to the person who owns it, and apparently some gang's been hassling them. When they said no to what the gang wanted, those scammers started calling other people, including me, pretending to be from that person's number. The callers are definitely dodgy, but the actual number itself isn’t fake.

This scam number's been going about for a while now. Honestly, if the call seems way too good to be true, just hang up straight away. But do make sure to report it, because even if they've managed to hack, there's usually a trail that can point back to their location. Stay safe!

This is actually my phone number! Early this morning (Saturday 26th September 2020), some people pretending to be from BT outreach, who sounded like an Asian gang, called loads of folks. When i said no to giving them access to my device, they kept ringing. Ive tried to ring back everyone I could to explain what’s going on. Sorry if I missed calling you back, I ended up getting about a hundred calls back within just a few hours!

Got a call from various numbers saying I owed a fine and if I didn’t pay up quick I’d get arrested at my own door. Police never ring or send texts like that, so it’s definitely a scam. If you don’t recognise the number, just ignore it and don’t pick up!

this is actually my phone number! some asian group pretending to be bt outreach kept ringing loads of numbers earlier today (saturday 26th september 2020). when i said no to them getting into my device, i tried calling back everyone i could to warn them about it. sorry if i didn’t manage to get back to you, i got nearly a hundred missed calls back in just a couple of hours!

Got a call from 01225333902 around 8:55 on Saturday, but there was complete silence on the line. Really odd.

They called but I didn’t pick up, and there’s no voicemail from them. Whenever I call back, it just goes straight to an answerphone asking me to leave a message, which I never do. Strange.
