Its Hoist Debt Collectors who buy up huge amounts of debt from other firms at just a fraction of the original price, like 10%, then the original company writes it off on their insurance each year. Hoist are annoying folks by trying to collect the entire amount, which isn’t right. If you havent signed anything with Hoist themselves, and they cant show any contract with your signature, then what they’re doing isn’t lawful. This feels like a right scam and just a pestering call. The authorities really need to step in and deal with these dodgy callers.
