My home phone rang from this number but I didnt know who it was so I just ignored it. Later they left a voicemail that lasted 14 minutes but there was nothing said, just silence! Proper annoying!

Absolute scumbags bothering people like that. Can't imagine feeling any sympathy for them, having to stoop that low just to earn a living. Here's a trick: Act like you’re lonely and haven’t talked to anyone in ages, start chatting away. They usually get bored and hang up quick.

Someone rang me saying they were from an energy firm, but I can’t recall the exact name. They wanted to speak to a particular person, who actually owned the place with a few others about a decade ago. When I told them not to ring again, they said they needed all my info to put me on their no-call list! When I wouldn’t give it, they said I wasn’t cooperating!

Got a call from an Aberdeen number, only picked up cuz I'm local here. It was a woman with a Dundee accent asking for someone called Mr Hamilton - no one by that name's lived at my place for ages, like 20 years at least. I didn’t give her any info and she said they'd keep ringing until I answered properly. I've put in a formal complaint for harassment now.

Just another annoying cold call scam - number shows Aberdeen but clearly not from there. Proper weird. Cold calling ought to be banned, they keep pestering ordinary folks multiple times a day and it’s so frustrating. All these types of calls should be outlawed - they’re usually dodgy characters, talking super quick and getting all rude if you ask them to slow down and explain who they are and what they want! Whoever’s in charge of them needs a serious talking to - probably paying these poor sods less than they deserve. They should find a different job and stop bothering everyone.

I received a call from a woman identifying herself as Pauline, representing a firm called Alba Solutions, which she claimed operated in Dundee, specialising in doors and windows. Oddly enough, the number had an 01224 area code, which actually belongs to Aberdeen. The call centre was absolutely chaotic; I could barely make out what she was saying, and she promptly hung up when I mentioned that I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service. I've since added the number to my block list and reported it to the Information Commissioner's Office. Interestingly, a bit of digging revealed that there was a company named Alba Solutions that used to be registered at a residential property in Dundee's west end, but it seems they dissolved quite a few years back. Can anyone really be foolish enough to fork out for double glazing from a business that's no longer even operating?

got a call from this number today. the guy sounded really rude, spoke down to me and was way too pushy. honestly, if this is how they treat people, i’m really concerned about older folks or anyone who’s not as sharp. didn’t like his tone one bit and his sales spiel seemed dodgy, definitely not true that the customer gets any funding as he suggested.
