My home phone rang from this number but I didnt know who it was so I just ignored it. Later they left a voicemail that lasted 14 minutes but there was nothing said, just silence! Proper annoying!

Someone rang me saying they were from an energy firm, but I can’t recall the exact name. They wanted to speak to a particular person, who actually owned the place with a few others about a decade ago. When I told them not to ring again, they said they needed all my info to put me on their no-call list! When I wouldn’t give it, they said I wasn’t cooperating!

Got a call from an Aberdeen number, only picked up cuz I'm local here. It was a woman with a Dundee accent asking for someone called Mr Hamilton - no one by that name's lived at my place for ages, like 20 years at least. Just another annoying cold call scam - number shows Aberdeen but clearly not from there. Proper weird. Cold calling ought to be banned, they keep pestering ordinary folks multiple times a day and it’s so frustrating. All these types of calls should be outlawed - they’re usually dodgy characters, talking super quick and getting all rude if you ask them to slow down and explain who they are and what they want! Whoever’s in charge of them needs a serious talking to - probably paying these poor sods less than they deserve. They should find a different job and stop bothering everyone.

Got a call from a woman named Pauline, who said she was from Alba Solutions, supposedly a doors and windows firm based in Dundee. The weird thing is, the number started with 01224, which is actually an Aberdeen code. The call centre was so loud that I could barely hear what she was saying. When I told her I’m on the TPS register, she quickly hung up. I’ve blocked the number now and also reported it to the ICO. According to Companies House, Alba Solutions used to be a business registered to a house in Dundee’s west end but it was dissolved years back. Honestly, who’d be crazy enough to order double glazing from a company that doesn’t even seem to exist anymore?

I put a block on this number at 2.04 pm on the 16th of June. If you don’t have the BT Call Guardian option, I’d recommend getting a phone with call blocking and just ban all virtual numbers. It’s a right pain having to dig through the Ofcom lists just to find all the 1,000 and 10,000 number ranges. Numbers starting with 01224 9xxxxx are actually virtual and belong to DIDWW Ireland Limited, which seems like a dodgy one-man setup that provides telemarketers with a ready-to-go platform. Got a call from an energy firm, I asked if they checked the TPS register, she said it doesn’t show on their system. I asked her once more if she’d actually checked, and then she just hung up on me!

got a call from this number today. the guy sounded really rude, spoke down to me and was way too pushy. honestly, if this is how they treat people, i’m really concerned about older folks or anyone who’s not as sharp. didn’t like his tone one bit and his sales spiel seemed dodgy, definitely not true that the customer gets any funding as he suggested.
