Got a call today around 6:50 pm from someone claiming to be with the Financial Conduct Department. Didn’t really buy it though, seems odd they’d be working at that hour when government offices should be closed.

I rang up a business line trying to get hold of a coworker, but they just wouldnt give me any answers. Felt like they were avoiding my questions completely.

This bloke somehow already knew my name and started talking about some compensation and digital cash I supposedly had waiting. I hung up on him the first time, but no surprise, he rang me straight back again. When I said I didn’t believe him and asked if he was having a laugh, he got quite rude. Seems really dodgy - folks who don’t catch on could easily be tricked into handing over their bank info. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.
