01224794500 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01224794500 👆 is reported as a number linked to offshore oil rigs, particularly those operated by Apache in the North Sea near Aberdeen. Several users identify it as a legitimate workplace contact, often from colleagues or acquaintances working offshore. However, calls, especially during evenings or late at night, have caused disturbance to some households, notably those with children, due to unexpected ring times and the inability to easily return calls. The number appears to connect through a call centre system, which can complicate callbacks. While some dismiss the calls as work-related, others regard them as intrusive or nuisance calls, emphasising frustration with receiving unexplained calls at inconvenient hours. Users unfamiliar with the number should be aware it is rarely linked to marketing or scams but primarily related to offshore communication.

We tried ringing at around 5:27 in the morning but no one picked up - I reckon they were deep in slumber. Honestly, we would have been quite annoyed had we been jolted awake at that hour! It’s Saturday night, after all, and we’ve got school the following afternoon. Blimey!

Received a call from this number earlier today and felt a bit dubious, so I did a bit of digging. I got another call afterwards, so I decided to answer it, and it turned out to be a genuine call connected to my job. It's actually a friend of mine who works as a scaffolder on the oil rigs up in the North Sea. Not certain when I might confirm the legitimacy of some of these calls, but at least this one seems proper!

Complete nonsense!

My wife received a call from this number at 11 PM, but he missed the ring. We decided to return the call, only to find that the line was busy. When we tried again, it displayed a different number altogether. It seems quite clear to us that this was an irritating nuisance, and we feel it should be blocked immediately. It's rather disruptive, particularly as we have young children in the house who are easily disturbed. We do hope action can be taken about such bothersome calls, similar to how matters were handled regarding that oil rig incident. The owners ought to be notified to put an end to this as soon as possible.

It's an oil platform located far from the shore.

Bloke gave us a bell this morning from the Forties Bravo rig owned by Apache; no doubt about it, that’s the one!

That's an overseas number; seems to be connected to an oil platform near Aberdeen. A friend of ours just called us to share that news.

Indeed, that's unmistakably an Apache offshore contact number. I happen to work on those rigs, so I know a thing or two about it. The reason you're unable to return the call is that it operates through a ring centre. If you do find out the extension number they used to reach you, you only need to enter the area code followed by the first three digits and then the extension. For instance, dialling 01224 794 and then 2694 should do the trick.

We received a call from this number, and initially, I had no clue who it belonged to. It turns out it’s my brother calling from an offshore rig, so there’s really no cause for concern! 😊

We quickly dialled 1471 after missing the call, which rang just three times before we could answer. It’s quite bothersome, especially at half nine while three kids are tucked up in bed; one of them is particularly sensitive to noise and can be easily disturbed! I'm quite baffled as to how these individuals obtained our number, considering it’s ex-directory. We always ensure that our phone details are omitted on any forms we fill out, normally just giving 0 or 1234567 when required. We have no idea who this company is or what they were trying to sell us, but frankly, we have no interest in finding out at such a late hour!

Received a call from this number on my mobile earlier. I inadvertently sent it to voicemail, but after looking into it, I’m rather relieved I did. Just hope this isn’t the beginning of a barrage of late-night surprises!

I received a call from these individuals at midnight on a Friday! Absolutely not keen to hear what they have to offer, so we chose to ignore it.

Received a call from this number twice in quick succession. The moment I answered, all I got was an incessant dialling tone. Did a bit of digging into this-has anyone else had a similar experience? Strange to get such a call at half past nine on a Sunday evening! What's going on?

We quickly dialled 1471 after missing a call that rang thrice before we could answer, which was quite bothersome considering it was around half-past nine in the evening. With three little ones tucked in bed, one of whom is particularly sensitive to noise, it was especially frustrating. I'm quite baffled as to how these individuals obtained our number since it’s unlisted, and we’re quite meticulous about not providing our telephone details on forms - we usually input something like 0000000 or 1234567 just to get through. We have absolutely no idea who this company is or what they hoped to discuss, but frankly, we wouldn’t be interested at that hour regardless!

It's an offshore oil platform. A friend of ours dialled in from the rig, and this was the number that appeared on our display.

We dialled 1471 shortly after missing a call that rang three times, much to our annoyance, especially at half past nine in the evening when the children are all tucked up in bed. One of them is quite delicate and can be easily stirred from sleep! I'm genuinely puzzled as to how these callers got hold of our number since it's unlisted, and we’re meticulous about not including our phone details on any forms. Typically, we use dummy numbers like 0 or 1234567 for that purpose. We haven't the faintest idea who this company was or what they were selling, but at that hour, it's the last thing we’d want to entertain!
