They told me there were loads of error messages and event logs on my router, offering to fix it remotely. Then they tried to get me to open a sketchy website through the run command and download who knows what - probably some kind of malware or keylogger. This felt exactly like a scam I’d dealt with before, so I played along for a solid 30 minutes. At one point, they asked me to type in something like www......exe into the run box. When I told them there’s no way I’d run a random exe from a stranger calling me, they just lost it and shouted some nasty words before hanging up.
