I received a call from a dodgy PPI claims company referring to an accident that I've never experienced. Quite baffling, to be honest.

total scam. They said there'd been a car crash but it was all a load of rubbish. What bugs me is they use a number from my area, so you feel you gotta pick up. I've blocked the number now.

So, just got a call saying I was in some kind of accident, which is totally not true! Haven't had anything happen at all.

This one’s a classic for sure. I usually say something like, “Thanks for ringing, but can you hold on a moment?” then I set the phone aside. After a bit, maybe 10 or 20 seconds, I come back with, “Please remain on the line. Your fraudulent call is important and will be dealt with soon,” then I leave it again and just wait until they hang up. Love wasting their time like that!
