For a moment, I genuinely believed I was conversing with a legitimate Barclays representative until he started asking me some seemingly innocuous questions, insisting that all I needed to provide was a simple 'yes' or 'no'.
That’s when I decided to end the call right away.
I then checked with my bank, and they confirmed that no one from Barclays had reached out to me, nor did the number belong to them.
It strikes me as a dangerous ploy-they might be attempting to create fraudulent contracts using audio editing tools to splice together 'yes' responses if they manage to ensnare someone in their trap-EXTREMELY RISKY!!!
