Got calls from these lot three days straight. First couple of times they were on about some dodgy Sky box warranty trying to rip me off.

Decided to just not pick up on the third.

Just like many here, I get calls around lunchtime and the number shows up on my screen. I don't bother stressing over who it might be or if it’s some robot caller. I simply answer quickly then hang up straight away to cut the ringing. After a short while, the calls quit.

Got a call from this number earlier, but thankfully I’d already looked it up. The bloke said he was from BT and Sky, and claimed my Sky insurance had expired. When I asked how long I supposedly had it, he said it was linked to my warranty. I told him, “That’s a cracking warranty if I’ve had my Sky for 12 years!” and told him to jog on and try pranking someone else. Absolute cheek! - Denise

i got a call from some bloke claiming my tv warranty and service had run out. i told him straight that he’d got the wrong number and this call wasn’t for me (i dont even have any guarantee on my tv). yeah, just another dodgy scam from some lowlife trying it on!!!

I’ve had the same thing, loads of calls that just hang up straight away. I stopped answering when I saw their number pop up. But then I tried blasting them with my kid’s loud horn and it actually made them stop calling! Might be worth a go.

I got a call from someone trying to get me to buy sky insurance, which I’ve never had. I told them I wasn’t the person they thought they were ringing but they kept going. When I phoned back their number, it just went to an automated message. Proper frustrating!

So, basically, this lot tried pulling the same con on my elderly mum. Luckily, I’d already grabbed her debit card for safekeeping. When she told them to talk to me, which was a bit rare for these scammers, they actually agreed. The bloke sounded polite and somewhat believable, but he mentioned Sky, which was a dead giveaway - my mum’s never had it. That chat didn’t last long. I was also quite shocked he didn’t hide his number; checking through 1471 showed it wasn’t withheld at all.

Got a call from a firm called "Assurity Nationwide" pushing sky insurance. They said my existing cover had expired and tried to get me to switch to theirs. Pretty annoying since I’m on the TPS and they just disregarded that completely. Their number is 0800 012 4478 if you want to avoid them.

This number keeps calling me nonstop. They never bother to leave a voicemail, which really says it all, doesn't it? My advice? Never do any sort of business deal with someone who rings you out of the blue. Just say that and hang up straight away.

These crooks really ought to be shut down. They attempted to push some sort of Sky insurance on my elderly dad who's got early dementia. When I tried calling the number back, there was nothing on the other end.
