6 yearsToday at about 7:45 in the morning, I got a call from the Aberdeen code 01224340744 out of the blue. It was a woman on the line asking for my mum by her last name. The thing is, my mum’s got dementia and hasn’t lived at this address for a good few years now. She used to get loads of scam calls before she moved away. I asked where she’d found my number since I’m on the TPS, but she didn’t answer that and when I asked which company she was with, she just ignored me and kept saying “Mrs ….” I reckon she was working off some old scam list and thought she was speaking to my mum. Her accent was odd - not clearly British or from any country I could place. I tried ringing the number back at lunchtime but got a message saying the number wasn’t recognised.
