7 yearsToday at about 12:28pm, I got a call from 01224539069. I picked up right away, knowing full well it was probably a scam. I said “Hello?” but there was zero response, just dead silence. After maybe 10 seconds, this robotic female voice - definitely no Scottish or any particular accent - just said “goodbye” and then the call ended. No one actually talked, no greetings or anything personal. I reckon someone was on the other end listening, but since I only said hello and nothing else, they probably realised they weren’t gonna get info from me. I’m already aware of scams from a few other numbers that have called me recently. I never give out any details but if this same number rings again, I might try giving them a fake name to see what happens, maybe have it all recorded. Earlier this morning, around 9:50am, another number, 01217941853, tried calling me. I didn’t answer but looked it up later on one of these reverse lookup sites and yep - reported as a scam. Also, I got a call yesterday from 02038872893 at 11:54am. Didn’t pick up that one either. All three are from different parts of the UK, so I’m not sure if these callers are working together or just random. Either way, I’m keeping a closer eye on it. Next time they ring, I’ll answer while recording to gather some proof. Honestly, the level of intelligence behind these scammers is pretty poor - silent line then an automated goodbye before hanging up.
