Reports on phone number 01224091796
7 yearsToday, I received a call from the number 01224539069 at precisely 12.28pm. Naturally, I picked up, fully aware it was likely some sort of con. "Hello? Hello?" I called out, but was met with nothing but silence. After what felt like an eternity, a mechanical voice piped up, simply uttering "goodbye" before abruptly ending the call. It was a female-sounding robotic voice-no discernible accent, certainly not Scottish or anything regional. In essence, it was an empty line followed by a curt farewell before the connection was dropped. I can only assume someone was on the other end, but given that I only uttered "hello," they probably realised they hadn't extracted any valuable information. I didn’t share my name or any details whatsoever. I was already clued into the fact that this number, along with others I've encountered, are linked to scams. I tend to keep my details close to my chest, but if they dare to call again, I might throw a name into the mix just to see how they react. Who knows, perhaps they'll actually engage while I record the whole farce. There’s also another number that rang me this morning-01217941853 at 9.50am. I chose not to answer, instead opting to look it up on these websites where it’s already flagged as a scam. Yet another dubious number cropped up yesterday-02038872893 at 11.54am on the 8th of January, 2020. That one went ignored too. What’s interesting is that these three numbers are from various parts of the UK, leading me to ponder whether they’re part of a larger operation run by individuals who might know each other, or perhaps it’s just coincidence. I haven’t deciphered that mystery yet. I’ll be better prepared for any future calls, as I intend to answer whilst recording them for further clues about their intentions. Honestly, the intellect of these scammers seems to be nonexistent. It’s laughable-they let out a silence, and when they do speak, it’s a robotic farewell before hanging up.UKSubmit Your Own Report (01224 091796)
