I got a call from someone supposedly from the Home Office, saying there was some kind of investigation. I asked for proof and he claimed he was a federal agent. I told him we don’t have federal agents here in the UK, and well, he just hung up on me. Not really shocking at all.

Got a call the other day from someone saying they worked with the Home Office and some fraud department. I was shocked by how much they seemed to know about me. They brought up a mate of mine in Africa and talked about some investigation lasting six months. I asked them to send proof of their identity but, surprise surprise, I never got anything. I’ve since reported it to the police’s fraud unit. Best to just ignore calls from this number.

I got a voicemail, said it was urgent I ring them back. They also dropped the name of someone I recognise from Africa.

Got a call from someone trying to get my personal details. Best advice? Just hang up and block that number straight away. Don’t engage with them at all!
