I received a phone call about loft insulation, and they wanted me to verify my name. I wasn’t comfortable with that, so I declined and ended the call.

I had a call purporting to be from National Insulation UK about loft insulation. Something didn't quite feel right, so I cut the conversation short and promptly blocked the number. I'm sceptical about their true identity!

As soon as I picked up they just hung up on me. I used 1471 to check the caller and when I called back, an automated voice said it was TopCall - from what I found online, that’s some kind of phone answering service. Feels like they might be trying to collect real phone numbers. I’m definitely going to report this to the Information Commissioner's Office, as I do with any spammy calls like this.
