Got a call from someone saying they were with the National Welfare Office or something like that. They were trying to get details about my Covid jab. When I told them I was fully vaccinated, the person on the other end just ended the call. Definitely sounded dodgy, so I blocked the number straight away.

Sounds like a typical scam to me. The caller claimed to be from a health office asking about my Covid vaccine status and if I’d got my proof card. I cut the call straight away once those questions started.

There's been a lot of fake calls lately with robodiallers showing a spoofed caller ID that looks like the number it's actually coming from. They use 01227, which is a legit area code, but the following digits 015109 aren’t valid for UK landlines at all. Blocking these is pointless because they'll just switch to another fake number - likely 015110 or 015111 next.

Got a call from someone with an accent, asking to talk to the property owner. I asked him for the name of the person he wanted to speak to, but he just ended the call right away. Definitely feels like a scam.

Got a call from some bloke abroad claiming he’s with the council and offering energy savings or something. I told him straight off to take me off his list. Honestly, why even bother signing up for the TPS when you still get loads of these calls? They’re just ramping up lately.

I’m convinced it’s not the same person each time, but there’s a good chance it’s the same company pulling the strings.

Most of the time, it’s an Asian-sounding individual on the other end. The most recent call came in yesterday at 13:19.

Had a really odd call from a foreign guy who spoke so slowly it was weird. I thought he was trying to scam me, maybe get access to my internet or computer. I told him I didn’t want anything, and then, in this creepy slow tone he just said "lovely". Barely believable!
