I did my due diligence and verified the number; turns out it's notorious for dodgy dealings. Naturally, he flat-out refused any wrongdoing. I usually refrain from picking up calls from numbers I don't recognise, but while I was eagerly anticipating a call from my GP, I momentarily lost my usual caution. The caller was a woman with an Asian accent who rambled on about my computer being compromised, and goodness, she didn't pause for breath! She insisted that I make a trip to Reading to resolve the issue! I explained to her that if my computer needed fixing, there was absolutely no reason for me to leave my home - especially not to go all the way to England. She kept going on about how she was just trying to assist me, but when I firmly stated that my computer was perfectly fine, she resorted to calling me a rather unsavoury name (I’ll keep it civil) before abruptly hanging up. Got a call just before 9 in the morning from someone claiming to be from Microsoft about my PC. The bloke had a decent voice but definitely had an accent I couldn't place. I gave him a fair piece of my mind in straight Scottish and told him exactly what I thought of him. Can’t say I feel too sorry for people like that (they're worse than pests), but it really winds me up that these scammers seem to be untouchable because the government doesn’t seem bothered to deal with them.

Rang me at 9:34 in the morning, and it was a woman with an Asian accent claiming that my computer had been flagged for downloading dodgy stuff over the last few days. I let her go on for a bit, but eventually, I interrupted her and informed her I was well aware this was a scam. I then swiftly ended the call.

I received a call from this number, but they didn’t pick up when I answered. So, I looked up the number for more information.

Got a call from a lady claiming she was from Microsoft. She was pretty pushy, kept telling me to open my laptop and look at the licence number. I kept refusing but she wouldn’t back off. Asked her to ring me tomorrow instead. Didn’t pick up when she did, ended up with like 24 missed calls. Even now, she’s still ringing my landline while I’m typing this.

They rang me twice, once yesterday and then again just after 7 this morning. Left voicemail both times but no message was left.

Received a cheeky phone call today purportedly from Microsoft. I decided to have a bit of fun and asked the chap how I might resolve this pesky malware issue he was rambling on about. He urged me to jump onto my computer, but when I declined, he tried to intimidate me by claiming that my Microsoft licence would face cancellation and I'd need to head all the way to Reading to fix it. I simply replied, “Go on then, do that!” He hung up pretty swiftly after that! Quite amusing, really! 😂

I received a rather peculiar call earlier-there was silence on the line before a rather odd, automated voice chimed in to bid me farewell. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve managed to ruffle the feathers of someone from a dubious scammer's coven! I've been inundated with them lately! In fact, I had a rather amusing encounter with one bloke, who went on and on about my “recent mishap.” He arrogantly claimed to have my information right in front of him. I couldn’t help but give him a piece of my mind, questioning how he came by my details. So, I spent a good while cross-examining him about his dubious sources. Ultimately, I revealed I hadn’t been in any accident at all, to which he snapped back, “Why couldn’t you have mentioned that earlier? I wouldn’t have wasted my time!” To which I retorted, “Welcome to my world!”

Received a call at twenty past eight tonight, but I couldn’t be bothered to pick it up. Left the answering machine running, and if it was something crucial, they could've dropped a message. But no, just a load of pesky scammers, as per usual!

Got a call bright and early at 8 in the morning from someone saying they wanted to help with computer issues. Seemed like a total spam call, I wasn’t sure what the intention was, but as soon as I started throwing questions back at the caller, they just hung up. The person sounded American, so might have been one of those spoofed numbers.
