Got a call on my mobile from an Aberdeen number, but it was definitely a scam about a car accident. The person on the phone, who sounded like they might be African, was asking for someone who definitely wasn’t me. I told them straight I wasn't falling for their rubbish and then they just hung up. I like to mess with them by saying I was in a crash with a Premier League player who owned up straight away and handed me £2000 cash from his car glovebox to cover the damages, asking me not to tell his insurance since it wasn’t the first time. I don’t reveal the player’s name, but they start bombarding me with questions. I keep it going for a bit, and after around 15 minutes, I say I need to dash or I’ll be late for my appointment with my mental health nurse. That’s usually when they hang up. Honestly, it’s quite entertaining to mess around with them like this.

Intrigued, I pressed them for more details about the incident and the vehicle involved. To my amusement, he stuttered that he couldn't provide any information due to “something called GDPR” (a regulation I’m quite familiar with!). I couldn't help but chuckle at the irony, considering that this number is registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service), making his call rather unlawful. At that point, he abruptly ended the call.
