I got a call claiming I’d been in a car crash, so naturally I asked where they’d pulled that info from. They mumbled something about a mistake in their records. Told them I did have a minor scrape but nobody bothered reporting it, and if they wanted to waste my time with their rubbish then so be it. They then said it was against the law not to report accidents to the insurance, so I told them to go ahead and call the cops on me then. That seemed to scare them off quickly and they stammered that they wouldn’t, so I just hung up.

I’ve had a couple of calls from them now. The first was this bloke who sounded proper lost, mumbling something about a car crash. Then today, I got another call but no one said a word. I blocked the number but they just rang again! Proper annoying.

This number rang me while my phone was on silent. When I noticed it flashing, I finally answered with a simple “hello,” but didn’t hear anything back. I was about to hang up and said, “No one there, alright, I’m ending the call,” then as I hit the button to finish, I caught a voice trying to talk - but it was too late, I’d already ended it. Judging by what others have said, seems like just another scammer.

I got a call from a stranger, had been waiting for a crucial work call so I picked up. The bloke on the other end had an Aussie accent and was asking for me by name. He said he was “Tom from the Legal Department at M&A” or something like that. Felt a bit iffy about it, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Beware of this scam about car crash compensation where they promise you around £1500-1800 guaranteed. When I asked for details about the crash, like which insurance company or the date it ‘supposedly’ happened, they said it wasn't important. Instead, they just pushed for my personal info. Definitely don’t hand over any of your details to these people.

I receive loads of these every year, and no matter how many I block, they just keep on coming. They seem to switch the numbers every couple of months. Turns out this number is tied to Stuart Wright, who lives at 21a Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF. At least now we know where this crook is based! It’s no surprise he’s got a decent-sized house considering all the scams he’s been pulling off on people!

Got a call today where the bloke kept requesting Helen but wouldn’t explain the reason for ringing. I guessed it was one of those cold calls for website design since I’ve got a web address with ‘Helen’ in it. Sounds like they purchased a questionable list of numbers, probably scraping the internet for contacts and flogging them, which surely isn’t above board given GDPR rules. Ended up blocking the number on every phone I have.

Used to get loads of calls from random places not just this one. I tried calling back but kept my number hidden and all I got was silence. These calls come from everywhere - Aberdeen, Glasgow, Fife, even the Midlands in England. Seriously thinking about switching my number cos it's driving me mad.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with UK insurance about a minor accident they said I’d been involved in. They asked for me directly by name. I told the bloke straight away that it was a cold call and I hadn’t had any accidents recently. I also mentioned that cold calling is against the law and that I’d be blocking his number plus any others they might use. The caller sounded foreign and was definitely ringing from some call centre. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

This guy sounded like one of those posh public school lads, proper rude when I asked why he was cold-calling me. Had the last chuckle though - I’ve just rang the police in Scotland, and they’re actually starting a crime report on this. Can’t say much more without stepping out of line. Bet he’s used to getting away with it back at his posh school, but let’s see how he handles a bit of time inside.

Got a ring from this number on the 10th of November, 2021. This woman named Sarah said she was from some firm called Mortel Assist, who apparently work alongside U.K IT Insurance. She told me I’d made a claim about a car crash, which isn’t true at all. I just ended the call and put the number on block straight away.

I got a call from someone claiming they could help with an accident I supposedly had. I told them straight away that I hadn’t been in any accident and that I’m actually a solicitor. They just ended the call after that. Honestly, if these types call you, just hang up and block the number.

I’ve had calls from these lot more times than I can count. It’s obvious they’re just cold calling, trying to scam people with fake ‘accident claim’ offers that aren’t real. So why don’t the phone providers just shut them down straight away? Here’s the thing... they probably don’t because these dodgy calls bring in too much cash for the phone companies to bother stopping them. It’s really terrible how they take advantage of vulnerable people all for a quick buck. Properly disgraceful.
