Got pretty nasty when I told him my number isn’t for a business. He kept insisting I was running a business since he could hear sounds in the background (I was just cooking in my kitchen, nothing fancy!). He then said it was up to me to get my number taken off his calling list, even though I’ve never signed up as a business! He didn’t quit calling even after I told him his calls were harassment and that I’d be reporting him to the TPS.

Annoying scam calls are the worst. My rule is simple, never pick up if you don't know the number. If it's something important or someone who really knows you, they'll leave a voicemail. Best to just keep safe and ignore unknown callers.

Just like loads of others, I got a call from a really busy call centre. An Asian lady, who was a bit hard to understand, kept asking to talk to my manager saying it was urgent. I told her he wasn’t free and she kept insisting it was really important. When I said he’d be free in a couple of hours, I just hung up and blocked the number.

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be part of Sky’s security team saying my router had been hacked multiple times. I went along with it for a bit until she connected me to her ‘manager’ who then wanted me to log into a personal computer so they could 'demonstrate' the issue. I told them I was using a Police-issued laptop provided by the Cyber Crime Unit, which I use to track scammers’ phone numbers. Then she just hung up on me - proper rude!

I got a call from an Asian woman, probably Pakistani, but honestly she was all over the place. Got a call from 01223969879 today, 7/8/2020, here in Aberdeen, Scotland. As expected, it was one of those typical Indian scam calls. Best thing to do is hang up straight away or if your phone shows who’s calling, just ignore it. Even better, if your phone lets you, block the number entirely.

Got a call from an Asian lady, sounded like she was in a hectic call centre, asking to speak to the company boss. When I questioned her about where she was calling from and what it was about, she said something about business rates. I told her to email the info instead and ended the call pretty sharpish. Then, out of nowhere, she rings back two minutes later and just hangs up on me! Ha!

Someone called claiming to be from British Gas and said I was on their customer list. They even knew my name and mentioned our charity number and bank info, offering us a "special discount." They've called me at least once and also rang both my mobile and landline three times asking for someone else who runs our charity. I keep telling them we don’t have any gas account with them and to stop contacting me. I tried to report it as both dangerous and harassing but the system wouldn’t let me choose both options.

Somebody said they were ringing from Iford but the phone number showed up as Cambridge? They were trying to pitch me a deal on cheap electric. I kept them on the line for over 11 minutes to hold them up from bugging other folks for a while. When I told them to take my number off their list, the bloke reckoned it wasn't possible.

This call sounded like it was coming from one of those hectic call centres. They began speaking in English but then suddenly switched to some kind of nonsense language. Occasionally, they’d say “hello” back and forth. I’m guessing they’re from somewhere way east of Cambridge. If you’re up for chatting with someone a bit odd, pick up, otherwise just let it ring out.

Got a call today from an Asian bloke, he was asking straight for the manager. When I asked why he wanted to speak to them, he started spouting rubbish and swearing loads. Then he threatened that he’d pass my number to his mates and they’d keep ringing me nonstop. I just don’t get it - with all the bad reviews about this number, why aren’t the police stepping in? A bloke with an Indian accent rang my job saying he needed a carer. When I asked where he was based, he said Manchester. I told him we only cover London, not Manchester. He claimed to live in London too but hesitated and mumbled when I asked for his postcode. Then he started asking for a 'young girl'. Someone rang up asking for the company name, like it was an actual person. Claimed to be from British Gas and said they were calling from Birmingham, but their number started with a Cambridge code. When I asked some simple questions, they wouldn’t answer them. I told them to send an email if it wasn’t about a bill and they got all riled up, demanding my name and wanting to be put through to the company owner to ‘report’ me. They said they were reporting me for not helping. A bit later, they called a few times more but hung up as soon as they realised it was me again.
