Got a call from a lady who claimed she knew me and said we had a chat last year. I didn’t remember any of it, so I figured it was just a trick to get me talking. He was asking for Mr or Mrs A, honestly, how hard is it to tell who is who? My phone said it was an international call but it turned out to be from Cambridge. He said he called last year, which I think he did. They were pushing discount vouchers for double glazing, like £250 to £500 off, but you just know the prices are hiked up to start with so it’s a proper con. The caller said Home Solutions is their name, so I just told him I’d never heard of them and hung up straight away.

It was a rather insistent telesales pitch about some home improvement vouchers supposedly from Cambridge Home. It’s incredibly frustrating when you say you’re not interested, and they still persist. The person on the phone had a really thick Indian accent. She asked if I was the person who owns the landline and then started to say they were from some telecom company, saying the landline bill would go down to £14.00. When I said that didn’t concern me, she just hung up straight away. You could tell it was a busy call centre with loads of noise in the background.

These numbers have called me over 60 times now. Virgin Media told me there's no way to block them, and the only option I’m left with is to switch my number.
