Got a call from some bloke who sounded really American and pretty hostile. He started threatening to give me a black eye and even threw out a proper nasty insult. Totally uncalled for.

Got a call from some guy who claimed I’d shown interest in investing with them about 5 months back, said my name right too. Sounds a bit fishy to me. I think it’s a scam, trying to get you to put money in or give info. I wouldn’t trust it, best to just hang up straight away and not say anything else. Watch out for this one!

This guy said his name was Jacob Johnson and spoke with an American accent. He claimed to be from a firm that I think was called Trade Effects, but I’m not 100% sure because he never really explained properly. He didn’t even know the phone number he was ringing from. Honestly, he sounded like he might have been a bit tipsy. I just ended up blocking the number.

Got a call three times in a row from some guy claiming to be from FX trading or something. He kept getting my name wrong and I told him over and over but he didn’t bother to listen. Then out of nowhere, he started shouting, calling me all sorts of nasty names and told me to f*** off. Proper awful experience.

I tried to get them to say who they were and where they’re calling from, but it was all a bit murky. They mentioned something like (?fx), and said they noticed I might be into some investment stuff. Then they offered to set up a starter account for me, which just made me suspicious and I got the feeling it was a scam. I told them I was tied up and couldn’t talk, but then they rudely complained I was wasting their time. Definitely cheeky, so I’ve blocked the number now.

This guy said he was from around here and needed to check some pipes, but he had no idea where I lived, which felt a bit dodgy to me.

For the past week, I've been receiving calls mostly silent and they just hang up after a while. Recently, these calls have started coming through early morning, and it woke me up on two occasions. It's really annoying and feels like harassment. The caller only says a name I have no clue about.

Got calls from some place called Trade GGX or a similar name. Said I had registered with them, which I definitely didn’t. They’ve rung me three times just today, proper annoying.

Got a call from some bloke who claimed I’d put my info on some kind of site when searching for investments. I told him there’s no way, since I’m not in a place to put money into anything. He got pretty nasty, insisting ‘you definitely did, I’ve got all the proof’ and then just cut me off. Smells like a scam to me. Stay clear of these dodgy types!

I kept asking him to spell out the company’s name (something like FX?), but his thick foreign accent made it impossible to catch. He said he noticed I’d been looking into better financial deals (well, who hasn’t?) and when I asked how he knew that, he claimed my info was on some finance site - total nonsense. As I was about to tell him I wouldn’t trust any cold call when it comes to investing, he abruptly ended the call. Very clear scam - steer clear, just like you would with Covid.

Got two calls from this number in just 48 hours. Missed the first one, but when I picked up the second, all I could hear was some sort of busy office noise before they just hung up. After reading what others say here, I’m definitely blocking it.

Despite me mentioning the company's name (FX?) a couple of times, I struggled to make myself understood due to his thick foreign accent. He insisted he could tell I was on the lookout for better financial options (aren't we all?), so I probed him on how he obtained that information. His response was that my information was left on some financial site, which is utter nonsense. I began to explain that I'd never consider investing through a cold call, but he cut me off mid-sentence. It’s clearly a scam-steer clear of it like you would a pandemic.

I got a call from a woman named Rosie who said she was calling from some fx trading company. She wanted my bank details to help me buy crude oil and mentioned she’d take a 2% fee from whatever profits I made. I told her I’d need to think it over. When she rang back the following day, I told her I wasn’t interested anymore and asked her to remove my number from their list. Instead, she claimed we’d made an agreement and refused to take me off, warning me I’d be getting even more calls. That was the last straw, so I just hung up and blocked her. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Somebody rang me saying they were from a firm called "Trading FXS" and tried to get me to put money into some kind of investment. They said they got my contact details because I'd either signed up for emails or noticed one of their adverts. When I asked nicely for them to take me off their list, they weren't very happy about it.

just a heads up for anyone else; watch out for a few things. one is that awkward 2-5 second pause when you pick up. then there’s the caller - often a guy or sometimes a woman, usually with an indian accent. one thing i noticed was the call quality - felt like they were speaking from a cave or something, with weird echoes. i didn’t even bother - ended up hanging up on the tosser. honestly, adding another one of these dodgy numbers to my massive block list. beats me how they keep getting hold of my digits though.

This number has kept ringing me nonstop. One time I was in hospital undergoing chemo for cancer and they still called, claiming to be from Trade FX Ltd. I told them straight away I was in hospital, but they just said sorry and pushed me to invest anyway. I’ve asked them nicely to take me off their list plenty of times but they just don’t listen. Contacted the company I think is behind it as well, no luck whatsoever. Seems all they want is your money, they don’t accept no for an answer and keep harassing you like you’re the one being difficult. Properly shameful behaviour.

I've continuously been bothered by this number, and one instance really stands out-when I was in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. They introduced themselves as representatives of Trade FX Ltd. Even after I informed them of my situation, they simply apologised but proceeded to pressure me into making investments. On other occasions, despite my polite requests to have my number removed from their calling list, I've had no luck whatsoever. I've even attempted to reach out to the company I suspect is behind these calls, but again, no success. It's clear they're solely after your money and refuse to take "no" for an answer, often making you feel like you're in the wrong. It’s utterly appalling behaviour!

This number’s been ringing me quite a bit. The first time I answered, there was silence on the other end. When they called a second time, I ignored it ’cause I don’t usually pick up if I don’t recognise the caller. Then, just a couple of minutes later, they called right back again.

I received a rather unexpected phone call from someone inquiring after a family member of mine by name. However, when I declined to connect them, they became quite evasive and secretive. Their accent suggested they might be calling from outside the UK. Best to steer clear of such calls.

Got a call out of the blue about online trading, sounded like a foreign accent. They were really chatty and kept insisting I’d asked for their assistance or something. Feels like a scam to me, probably some fraudsters trying their luck.
