Got a call from a woman saying my account was charged £199 for Amazon and £899 on some dodgy foreign website. She told me to press 2 if I didn’t approve the payments so they could cancel them. I humoured her with made-up info but refused when she asked for my sort code. Then I pretended to be upset, begging for help, but she just told me to "f*** off" and ended the call. The caller ID showed the number, but when I tried redialling by pressing "3," it said the number wasn’t valid. My area code is 01223, by the way.
