They said they were from Direct Line which was a bit worrying, especially since they had some personal details (although not quite right). When I started asking them questions, they just ended the call.

It's quite laughable, this number was pretending to be from 02. I actually ended the call before picking up, just to be safe. These lot are total scammers, really dodgy. What’s freaky is they managed to send a message right after I hung up saying: “you missed a call from me at 15:23 17 Jul. This is a free call alert from 02. To stop these, dial 901, press #, then option 5 and option 5.” Proper jokers, honestly.

i got a call from someone who definitely didn’t sound english, claiming they were from the postcode lottery. they told me i’d won a discount card for shops and, since i’m over 50, they said i’d also scored a free flight plus a villa stay! they asked for my email, but i refused, saying they should already have my postal address to send stuff by mail. i turned down the whole thing. my daughter once got her email hacked, so i’m really wary about giving out that info. feels dodgy to me.

However, they insisted that to activate this prize, they needed to make a deposit of a mere penny into my bank account and requested my banking details. I told them that if they could send the information in the post, I'd be happy to ring back and confirm it. After that, I promptly ended the call.
