Funny thing is, I decided to call back the number that popped up on my caller ID. No shocker really, the line just gave me a dead tone like it was disconnected or never existed at all. Clearly, it's a fake number. If I can spot a dodgy number that quickly, I'm sure BT could too. So why don't they do something about it and stop these fake numbers from being used by scammers? It seems like an obvious step.

No doubt, this one’s a scam. They just ring up and say "Hello?" without telling you who they are. You can totally hear people chatting in a call centre behind them. Honestly, it’s better not to answer or get involved. There’s no way they’d bother calling if they didn’t want something from you. I’d say it’s a risky call, especially if you tend to trust easily.

Funny thing is, I called back the number that showed up on my caller ID. As expected, there was just a dead tone, like the number wasn’t real at all. It’s obviously a fake number. If I can spot a dodgy number that easily, BT must be able to as well. So why on earth don’t they have a way to spot and block these fake callers in the first place? Seems like a no-brainer to me!
