The thing is, I don't even enter the lottery! Who do they think they're fooling?Camelot3 yearsI received a rather peculiar phone call from a chap named Brian Miller, who had a thick American twang. He claimed to be representing a lottery that I apparently entered ages ago and proceeded to inform me that I had struck gold with a potential win of up to £80 million! To top it off, he mentioned that I could look forward to receiving at least £500 over the forthcoming months. Now, he explained that any larger sums would be dispatched via a cashier’s cheque-quite an odd phrasing, if you ask me, especially for a UK entity. The smaller amounts, however, were to be credited back to my Visa card as a transaction from something called "Universal." Apparently, I could reach them at 0800 086 8694. He then had the nerve to ask for the expiry date on my card along with the long card number-at this point, I thought it wise to decline his request.
