Got a robocall from something about fashion world.

It was a bloke with an Asian accent, claiming to work for a firm called 'smart homes' - said he wasn't trying to sell me anything but just wanted to replace some loft insulation. Before I could get a word in or ask anything, he just said someone would call me back in 24 hours and then hung up straight away.

I received a call while I was undergoing a surgical procedure, so it's safe to say it wasn’t anyone I recognised. Definitely ruled out any doctors, dentists or mates. When I attempted to return the call, I was met with an odd message stating that the number is supposedly inactive? The voice sounded distinctly American, mentioning something about this being a number linked to another one, which has left me quite puzzled.

A lady with an Asian accent phoned me, claiming to be from a company supported by National Green Energy, offering a free loft insulation survey. I told her I’d just had the work done so wasn't interested. She kept persisting and wouldn’t accept no. I finally told her to have a nice day and ended the call. This isn’t the first time they’ve tried this on with me.

Caller ID really helps with dealing with these weird calls. If someone wants to get in touch, they’re welcome to leave a message, so I don’t see the point in picking up unknown numbers.

Whenever I pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, I just keep quiet. Their system seems to kick in only when it detects a voice. If there’s no sound, it just ends the call. So yeah, it’s definitely some kind of automated bot.

They gave me a bell at 4:10 PM on the 8th of June, 2021, wanting to chat with someone named Stephan Brown. Now, while my name isn’t far off, it’s definitely not that! If they can't even get something as fundamental as a name right, what’s the point in engaging with them? So I kindly let them know that no one by that name resides at this address.

A female voice with an English accent called asking for my wife using her full name. I told them she wasn’t available and asked if I could pass a message on.
