I use a nanny phone where callers must tell me their name and where they’re calling from before I’ll answer. If they don’t, the call won’t connect. Then I just delete the ones that didn’t get through - it’s made dealing with unknown numbers so much easier.

Got a call from a woman with a thick Indian accent claiming she was from TPS, saying I had to renew a subscription. Thing is, TPS is free and it's meant to block scam calls! She knew my name, address, and even mentioned I pay my phone bill by direct debit. Then she asked me to confirm my card’s expiry date, saying it was about to run out, and told me to check the new card’s date while she stayed on the line. I just ended the call. This number has been ringing a lot lately, no voicemail or nothing. Really creeps me out how much personal info they seem to have.

Got a call from 01223678700 claiming to be from the TPS. The person asked for my credit card's expiry date, which immediately raised red flags. I told him straight away I knew it was a scam, and he seemed pretty frustrated. I ended the call but he rang me back THREE more times after that, none of which I picked up. What’s worse, he already had loads of my personal info like my name and address. Honestly, it’s quite worrying.

This guy who called sounded Indian and was surprisingly convincing. He knew my name and where I live, even claimed to have my bank info and said I pay my phone bill by direct debit. Then he mentioned my credit card expired back in 2019 and asked if it was all correct. I just cut the call. It’s scary how these people get hold of so much personal stuff, I really don’t get it. Properly unsettling.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent about renewing some call blocking service. He already had my full name and address which was a bit creepy. Then he asked for the expiry date on my debit card and passed me over to another bloke, also sounding Indian, to set it up. When the second man started asking which bank my debit card was from, I just ended the call straight away.

Today, my answerphone was full of quiet calls and I fell for one because they claimed to be from BT. They even had my card number and I gave them the expiry date, but got suspicious when they wanted more details like account numbers. Like some others have said, a bloke with a foreign accent rang me saying he was calling from TPS. He had my name and where I live, which freaked me out a bit. I just got a ring from these lot. Normally, I’m pretty sceptical and don’t fall for stuff easily, but they seemed to already know loads about me, so I was a bit thrown off my usual guard. I ended up giving them the expiry date of my card, thinking that’s what they were after. Then, when they asked me to check the bottom of the card and read out some 6 digit number in a format like 2 digits dash 2 digits dash 2 digits, my alarm bells started ringing again. Definitely watch out for these people - they’re really crafty.

Got a few calls today from someone saying they're with BT. They told me it would cost £21.99 a month to block all those annoying calls. The catch? First month’s free but you have to give them your bank info. They've rung me three times already just today. Quite fishy if you ask me.

I got a call from 01223 3678700 on 24th January 2019 around 4.23pm. The person on the line claimed it was regarding some kind of phone blocking service. Strange thing is, they never brought up British Telecom or the Telephone Preference Service at all. When I asked to pass the phone to someone else, by the time they answered, the caller had already disconnected.

I had three missed calls from this number last night. Wasn’t able to pick up any of them, and there was no voicemail left. Decided to ring back but the call got stopped by Sky Call Minder, which then asked me to say who was calling. I just hung up after that. At first, I figured if the Call Minder was active on this line it had to be something normal, but I’m wiser now. I’ve blocked the number since.

In the last four hours I've had two calls supposedly from the telephone preference service. The first one said they were blocking international calls, then this woman phoned saying she was from the telephone preference management team and that they were upgrading the service to stop nuisance calls for good. When she asked if I was still on direct debit and I questioned why that mattered, she just ended the call straight away.

Over the last few days, I kept getting calls that always went to voicemail. Eventually, I picked up just to shut them down. I told them I wasn’t sure, so they told me to fetch my card to check. That’s when I made some quick excuses and ended the call sharpish!

This number called me 4 times today, each time saying they were calling from the TPS. They said they needed to check my details so I wouldn't get any more annoying calls. It was obvious they were calling from abroad because the caller kept messing up my name, mixing up my first name and last name all the time.
