This is one of those automated robocalls that just hang up as soon as you pick up. Basically, it’s a pre-check to make sure your number is active and someone is there to answer. After that, a real person is supposed to ring you back later on trying to push some rubbish you really don’t want!

They’ve alleged to represent a charity called Head to Toe for the Ipswich area, yet the website indicates it only serves Cambridgeshire.

There’s some talk about supporting children during the festive season and they mention contributions of just a pound a week. It could very well be a genuine cause, but everything seems a bit unclear, and I’m at a loss for how to respond...

I can’t shake off the feeling that there's more to this than meets the eye.
