I received a rather garbled automated call purporting to be from some tax fraud agency, asserting that I was under investigation for tax evasion. They prompted me to press 1. What a complete con!

This number rang me two times within a quarter of an hour, even though I clearly said I wasn’t interested in switching my broadband, gas or electricity. When I told them to stop calling, they got quite nasty. Ended up blocking the number.

They wouldn’t say what company they were from until I gave them my name. Using data protection as an excuse, but surely they could at least say who they were and why they were calling before asking for my details.

had this recorded message in english sayin im under investigation for tax fraud. it went on say if i dont press 1, ill get arrested for tax fraud! proper shady if you ask me.
