A bloke who said his name was David Mitchell rang me up. I can't recall the firm he claimed to be from though. He wanted me to verify my details supposedly for data protection checks. After confirming, he launched into a spiel about changing my broadband provider to save money. When he finished with his 'great deal', I told him I wasn’t comfortable with the company he was pushing. He tried one last time, straight up asking if I wanted to switch and save cash. I just said no, and he ended the call.

I got a call from a bloke saying my Sky broadband bills were going up and that I needed to lock in a fixed rate right away. He somehow knew my full name and address, which freaked me out a bit. I told him I’d ring Sky later, but he kept pressing me, saying the price hikes were happening the next day and if I didn’t act fast, I’d end up paying more. I told him again I’d sort it with Sky myself and then I just ended the call. When I phoned Sky, they told me no one from them had tried contacting me - definitely a scam.
