At precisely 1:25 PM on the 15th of August, 2019, I began receiving multiple calls on my landline, all stemming from various numbers that begin with 012. This peculiar routine occurs two or three times daily, several times throughout the week. If I choose not to answer, there's never a voicemail left. If I stay hushed, silence ensues, but if I respond with a simple "hello," I’m greeted by an automated, rather mechanical voice allegedly from TalkTalk, and on occasion from BT, warning me that "Your Internet Service is facing imminent termination. To sever the line, press One; to converse with a technician, press Two."
